I was all of 16 years old in 1982 when I saw a Shelby Cobra sitting in a barn in Indiana. We were painting the barn and saw something covered with some blankets to protect it from the pigeon shit. As a curious kid, I went in and pulled back the cover......and I fell in love. The owners had parked a disk, plow and planter around it to keep it there. Always wonder what became of it.

I feel really lucky to have grown up with a favorite uncle who had a 68 gt350 from the time i was born. Not too many people ever even get to ride in a Shelby and i cruised around in one every summer until about 1997. He finally sold his mint candy red 68 Shelby and at the time $35k was a lot, but Gone in 60 seconds come out not long after and the prices of them went thru the roof because of Eleanor. Plus it was originally a 1 of 6 Raven black w/ black luxury seats car, so it would be so valuable today, it always drove perfectly.

@@thewriter2549 Hey Jerry I am curious, what got you hooked on the Shelby Mustangs? I can tell you that I got hooked on Mustangs because both my older brothers had them when I was around 10 years old and when I was in high school I had a 68 S code GT fastback and a 68 T code coupe. Have two 68 coupes now and have many over the years.

This was fun to watch! I love to watch important cars get authenticated or debunked.

I just found your channel and subscribed to it after watching this video. I enjoyed listening to someone that knows such details about a car and what was original. Like the others, I look forward to seeing your progress with the car. Our family has always been car enthusiasts so this is really interesting. We have a 67 Firebird convertible that was being restored and came to a halt when my dad passed away, so this hit home. Congratulations on finding a treasure !

I think a lot of the other videos have these same elements. Let me know what you think. And yes, we plan updates on this car's restoration - already been taking video.

@@thewriter2549 Dad and Mom had a 68 Mustang fastback with a 289 when we were kids. For some reason they started seeing that it wasn’t the most ideal family car, I can’t imagine why.
