They were my favorite couple. Tho not in romance, in many ways they were truly soul mates and best friends. The contrast of them dancing as the chaos of the other periods began was beautiful, and the fact that Simone was willing to become a murderer after seeing Karl terrified of doing it himself...just amazing.

when i first started watching i thought simone would have the most brutal way of offing him. but when they got closer than ever and karl's disease was revealed i realized where it was going. turns out she was actually the most merciful of the three and did it out of love 🥹 (and beth ann actually was the most brutal which was also shocking lol)

Yeah. Marrying your best friend was probably the best you could do then, if you wanted to not be socially alienated, and black listed, cast into the fringes. That's what happened to gay folks back then, especially if they didn't live in an area large enough that people would be too busy to mind, and judge one's personal affairs.

Yeah, always. She was only angry with him when she found out he had cheated on her (well he was gay, but still cheating, you know.) and later on she also says that her mother had taught her to marry men for money, but Karl was the man whom she married for love. And well with their affairs going on, they still love each other platonically, and in her last moments Karl also says that he married her cause he loved her. They were platonic soulmates.

It's a very boring story and poorly written characters compared to the other 2 families tbh. Also it doesn't help the wives in the past are iconic actors (Lucy Liu and Ginnifer Goodwin)
@-MaryPoppins-
14 күн бұрын
The current one wasn’t as interesting. It’s about a modern couple, wife is a lawyer, they’re poly, wife brings in a random Chick who they think was being abused, then a bunch of sht happens and the chick gets with the husband and feeds his addiction issues (recovering addict), and then tries to steal everyone’s money and house. Won’t spoil the ending for you, but it was good, not great 😂 the show switches back and forth between them all, so you don’t get too bored

These shows make HIV/AIDS look like a joke. For someone who has nursed patients with stage-IV AIDS at which point it's a death sentence in the progression of the disease, patients dont look at all like this. Someone with such low Tcells can't look anywhere as good as Karl. Such a patient is emaciated, to the bone, Has wounds everywhere, can barely move with out some support and has a myriad of other infections and disorders. Actually can barely hold anything in their stomach. I love the story though and the support the wife has for the husband. Most patients before used to die partly because of lack of such support.😢
