For some reason, the video title really made me laugh😂 It perfectly sums up my feelings about budget marker sets. I have ohuhu and sanjoki markers, so I'm all set, but always enjoy watching your product reviews.

Thi is an off topic question, have you ever done a video that compares the different Derwent colored pencils? Or a video that describes the differences between them? If you haven’t,would you consider doing something like that please? I am a teacher and a really generous donor has given a set of every Derwent line so my students can have quality supplies to work with. Some of the are asking me what the differences are and what the different types of the pencils can be used for what type of project. I have tested them all but to be honest I can’t figure the differences out for some of them. I would really appreciate the assistance. That is if anyone else is interested in a video of this sort.

lol I had to chuckle at your title too, Lindsay. You’ve summed these up very accurately in the title! That said, for someone just getting into markers they are fun❤ I gifted a set to my neighbor’s artist son who is in high school. He was overjoyed🎉

Hullo Lindsay, I believe that Ohuhu has elevated their marker game! I have put them up against my Copic alcohol markers and I have begun to recommend them to people getting into alcohol markers! With Ohuhu starting to produce refills on inks, nibs, as well as providing papers, I believe that they are serious about their markers. Some people have said the Copic brush nibs are “better” I believe it is personal experience and opinions. I have weighed the Copic brush nib against the Ohuhu and considering price of markers refills and everything (yes,even availability) I have stopped saying the markers to buy are Copic! I purchased the 320 Ohuhu Honolulu brush/bullet nibs for my wife’s coloring needs and she loves them and I have used the Ohuhu for several of my recent projects and so I am considering phasing out from Copic to Ohuhu! I believe that I can easily sell my used Copic markers and get 2 or 3 complete sets of Ohuhu markers! People have been that loyal to Copic’s and so many still are, but I am becoming a very big fan of the entire Ohuhu line of markers and marker products. I appreciate your honesty and hard work evaluating these markers. Budget markers are everywhere and it is easy to get started and have to restart from the beginning if you decide that alcohol markers are for you! Now I have plenty of Copic’s and I have not completed the set from Copic and I have used the Copic brush nib in Ohuhu marker, have you? If you cannot live without the Copic brush you can buy them separately too! I would love to see you show your viewers how to marry Copic’s and Ohuhu’s! I doubt that you need video idea’s, but there ya go!

I use Artezas, Tombow and budget Nicecho markers. I appreciate the review. I love it that you compare sets and show me the results. You also show me how to blend. I learned to drive on a manual in 1979. I had to take the test again also. I drove for only one year. I have no depth perception. Lol.😅

Great comparison! I have about 2/3 of the Copic Sketch line but I'm unhappy about the effect shrinkflation is having on the size of the refills. Luckily mine predate the quality issues, love them. I'm curious about whether a Copic brush nib will fit the Ohuhu markers, maybe that could be a quick vid like the frankenbrush vid! Anyway, this is your reminder to add the swatching/blending video link to the description! Thanks so much!

The Copic nibs are a bit to small, they may work but they will likely dry out faster.

Thanks, Lindsay! I always like hearing your perspective on supplies:) I have the Sanjoki. I like them but don’t use them enough. I did buy your alcohol marker class awhile back and am excited to get started. I think I’ll start it when I finish with the colored pencil class, which btw, I’m loving 😊 life keeps sidetracking me, so it’s taking me a hot minute but, I will eventually finish it 😂

@petalpusher

@karenhankerson330 I second Melinda's response. Brush nibs should give you a smoother edge than bullet nibs, especially if you're okay with the line width varying when there are changes in hand pressure or control. They behave somewhat like a paintbrush...so if the edge of a line isn't as smooth as you would like, you can try using the tip to sweep in from one side & across the rough patch. Brush nibs also perform better than bullet nibs from a variety of angles, so you may be able to find a few different hand positions that feel more controlled during use. Hope you enjoy whichever you choose!

I have the Sanjoki, and I don't color a lot, mostly just when stamping. But what I do use them for is paper flowers. I'm kind of a Susan's Garden die addict. I use the markers to add shading to my flowers. What I've noticed with the Sanjoki is the range if blues is more limited. I keep looking at Ohuhu, but I'd have to get a bunch to fill in the blues. This set looks like it has a lot of lighter to mid blues. Would this fill in the gaps? I'm also fine just waiting and getting Ohuhus later instead. It's not a rush.

There is a fair amount of blues in this set but if you are just looking for blues you can find sets of blues from several companies on amazon.

I wonder when companies will realise that we are not going to keep buying products that turn out to be the same as those we already have? The only markers that don't seem to be copied are the Chameleon Colour Tones pens.
@thefrugalcrafter
Ай бұрын
Those would be hard to duplicate. The reason there are so many copies of budget supplies is because they are white lable products and any company can order them from the factory with their logo on it so many companies do just that.
