I recently discovered a couple of pesky dents on the cowl of the 1948 GMC pickup. My first instinct was to just rough them out with a hammer and slop on some bondo, which would be a completely acceptable repair, but is it actually faster? To find out I decided to film the repairs in real time, using the tools and techniques that were available to bodymen in the "pre bondo" era. Can old school metalfinishing be faster than using plastic filler?
Once I get done fixing dents we attempt to fire up the old 1948 Gmc. Will it run again, or is it doomed to spend the winter in hibernation?
