i imagine he probably won't get fired but is likely to be fined or punished one way or another. police are protected by many laws and it can be a tricky area to navigate because they're trying to balance their public image from the handful of shit police vs making it worse by keeping them in. likely wouldn't look good on them if they fired officers every time something like this happened and may result in less efficiency from the "good" police if there's a constant risk of losing their job over a bad interaction. definitely not defending this guy though, he's clearly done this/acted this way before.

Why would the officer lie about the wife saying she was being abused? That was so weird.

One thing chat doesn't understand is that you should absolutely always announce you have a firearm whenever police lawfully detain or arrest you. No, the police don't always take it as a threat and yes, there is a way of announcing your carry status without soliciting a hostile response. For example: "Hello officer. Before we continue, I'd like to inform you that I am carrying a firearm and it's located (exact location of said firearm(s) )." The officer will absolutely almost always thank you for your transparency and will ask you to not reach for your gun at any time during your encounter. Your action of letting an officer know you're armed actually puts them at ease vs on edge because they see you'd be putting yourself at a tactical disadvantage rather than concealing a weapon entirely.

I never understood why people treat cops like the boogiemen, and think that if you announce that you're armed they'll shoot you or something lol

@@Atlas718 but it's your gun not the cops, so it's you the citizens obligation to announce your firearm not him to ask. But I do see what you're saying

@@NateTheGreat368 Well in Oklahoma at least he has a right to not mention it until they ask him themselves. So I imagine some ppl would be against saying they have it from the start.

you do not have to announce that your carrying a gun lawfully...same way you dont have to notify police if your going to openly carry your rifle legally.....any state that makes rules against it violates ur rights tbh....and any citizen telling you to limit your rights as if your in the wrong are severely ignorant....xqc is ignorant on your rights simple....here in ohio I dont have to tell them anything about whats on my hip

@@Atlas718 nope, only is some states and has to be a legal stop meaning they know you committed a crime and can stop you for it.....other than that no its a legal activity and you have the right to be private about it if your legal to carry

15:42 For the police "Federal fraud law is defined under 18 U.S.C. § 10011 as knowingly and intentionally doing any of the following: Falsifying, concealing, or covering up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact; Making any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation."

I think not telling that he has a gun is a part of how quickly the cop escalated. Probably saying he is armed would make everything worse in his mind.
