Having Durant would have stretched ROY's career an extra year or 2 because he wouln't have had to play 37- 38 mins a night on his knees. Here are a few more names, mostly from much older times, which I believe fit the bill: Terry Dischinger won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in the 1962-63 season, averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He was an NBA All Star in each of his first 3 seasons withe the Bullets and Pistons but then his career was put on hold for a couple of years of military service after which he was never the same player again. Sidney Wicks played for the Trail Blazers from 1971 to 1976, earning a total of four All-Star selections (1972-1975). He was the 1972 Rookie Of the Year averaging 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. His production declined visibly after leaving the Blazers. Ernie DiGregorio played just 5 seasons in the NBA between 1973 and 1978. In his rookie season he led the NBA in both assists and free throw percentage, including a game with 25 assists which is still the rookie record to this day. He won Rookie Of the Year honors. During the 1976-77 season, DiGregorio led the league in free throw percentage a second time, with a then-NBA record 94.5%. Larry Johnson was selected first overall in the 1991 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets, and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in his first season. In 1993, Johnson was voted to start in that year's All-Star Game, making him the first Hornet in franchise history to receive that honor; he enjoyed his best statistical season with averages of 22.1 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game in 82 games, which earned him All-NBA Second Team honors. Along with Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy Bogues and Dell Curry, Johnson played with the Hornets at the height of their popularity in the early to mid-1990s. He had a total of 3 All Star selections in 5 years. But as time passed he had more and more personal problems with other NBA players and personnel and after a trade to the Knicks his production decreased steadily for the rest of his career. Walter Davis was the fifth pick of the 1977 NBA draft to the Suns. He made an immediate impact, playing in 81 games and averaging 24.2 points per game in his first season, which would also be his career-high. He won the 1978 Rookie of the Year Award, and earned second team All-NBA honors. Over his first ten seasons, Davis averaged over 20 points per game six times, and earned trips to six All-Star Games and twice All-NBA honours. His later years were less productive.

I wonder if some of these players may have been able to extend their careers if they had access to today's training and sports medicine. Players today start their careers with trainers and sports medicine staff analyzing their specific body type, their running and jumping motion, their physical weaknesses, and are given a prescription for how to build muscle to insulate and protect their vulnerabilities. Course some don't seem to follow this advice(Zion), while others seem to embrace it fully(Giannis).

Weird comment about Amare near the end. Saying if Webber could get in then surely Amare can. No. Not even, Webber was doing in '94 what people expect out of bigs today being able to stretch the floor, pass, run and defend while still protecting the rim and grabbing 10 boards a game. Amare, by your own admission was a shit defender and relied on 6'7 Shawn Marion to protect the rim and lead the team in rebounding. Webber was the star of the fab 5 and influenced the college game for 2 seasons before making the jump. Statistically their best individual season matches up well, but Webber's still looks better. For their total career numbers, Webber still looks better.

As a Bulls fan who went to U of I Rose and D-Will hurt the most. Despite being the most rigged lotto since NYC got Ewing, it was a blessing to see Chicago’s very own have a chance to finally lead that team over the hump until injuries and the person he hired bc he thought he could trust him the most, his brother, ruined both his career and public image in the city that wanted to love him as much as we loved the GOAT. As for D-Will, it was awesome to be on campus for that magical 2004-2005 run and later see him overtake Kendall Gill as the highest pick in school history. Unlike Gill who was a decent role player, he was a legit NBA superstar. Also ironic that Roy was after D-Will on this list as his coming out party was when his Washington Huskies upset my Illini in the NCAA tourney.

10:15 Amare never tore his ACL. He had torn articular cartilage on his knee which forced him to get Microfracture knee surgery in the 2005 Offseason.

This video is a prime example of what I been saying . Basketball skills matter. Once you lose athletics you can depend on your skill if you develop it . See Larry Bird see Joker no athletics but skill wise they superb

I don't think Amar'e is getting in the hall. Chris Webber at least had college. Maybe if they factor in his international career he can make it.
