Thibault Benistant's crash at the MXGP of France in Saint Jean d'Angely was scary. With thousands of fans, friends, and family onsite, the home hero was in good spirits and confident he could challenge for the Grand Prix win. However, as always in racing, anything can happen, and in the blink of an eye, everything can change. And it did!
Thibault sustained a small crack in the wing of his C5 vertebra, which is unfortunate, however, given the size of the fall, it is not the worse outcome. The 22-year-old Frenchman walked out of the medical center on the same day and returned to the track to watch the racing.
On a brighter note, the French GP was highlighted by our EMX125 young guns, all under the age of 16, sporting our retro 1993-inspired livery on their #GYTR kitted #YZ125 ‘s to celebrate the MJC Yamaha Official EMX125 team's home Grand Prix, as well as 50 years of YZ!
It was an especially memorable moment for Jarne Bervoets, son of MXGP legend and former Factory Yamaha rider Marniq Bervoets, as well as for Frenchman Mano Faure, who proudly celebrated his home Grand Prix on the podium.
