Thin Lizzy, a truly tremendous band, in all their variants, until the loss of Phil Lynott, who was a great musician and so integral to the identity of the group. That said, when it came to showmanship, Freddy Mercury was inspired by the best in the field of piano players. Liberace. He adapted that style and, as a result, the live performances of Queen were fantastic so, for me at least, the greatest frontman was Freddie Mercury.

@@ben-c5t You are correct. Just watched this on a larger screen and can now see the guitar leads (my eyes aren't what they once were and and have never been particularly good to begin with). Interesting to note that Phil's bass IS ACTUALLY WIRELESS (you can see the transmitter attached to his guitar strap, just above his right hip). So I got that bit wrong, also. Clearly, it wasn't mimed but it was overdubbed in post-production. Would be great to hear the original audio and compare the two. I know the "Live and Dangerous" album was studio enhanced because the producer (Tony Visconti) admitted as much many years later, although he and the band denied it for a long time, but I still love hearing it despite that fact, all these decades since I bought it, upon its release and when I was but a teenager. In fairness, I very much doubt almost any "live" production by an artist has not seen at least a little studio tweaking, prio to release. Phil is quoted as saying that what prompted him to have a "live" album was that he had gotten so sick and tired of hearing Peter Frampton's "Ooh baby I love your way" with it's over the top opening audience reaction to the song. You're right. I'm wrong. I shouldn't have used the term "mimed". Nice chatting.🙂

I used to work at Newcastle city hall they seemed to be there at least a couple of times a year. One of the best tightest bands I've seen. I can still see the spot lights reflecting off his mirrored bass guitar

The Best Band Ever!! Thanks to Bob Seger (another Rock legend) for wrighting this great song, and Lizzy for picking it up making it even better so that the following rock bands would know how to Rock´n Roll.

Just watched the video again. So good we named our daughter after this song. Take time to read the lyrics and it describes her perfectly. Sent me a wonderful father's day card that said "like father, like daughter....Oh shit". That's our girl

Phil Lynott is definitely a inspiration for many artists and musicians across the globe. He valued the muscians in the band . An the importance of giving all his muscians an opportunity to shine. Being a drummer and listening to the music makes me feel so appreciated about Thin Lizzy :) Thank you Thin Lizzy ! X

There's a warmth to this music like no other. It's like Phil Lynott and his mates are having a chat with you. I love this track and they owned Bob Seger's song. Kudos to Bob for writing it, but the boys decided to take it to another level. This arrangement is roasting hot and totally grounded in old-school Rock practices. It's fun to play and sing too.

CKLW the BIG 8 .... Windsor Canada ...........Rosalie Trombley (born circa 1939) is a Canadian former music director of AM Top 40 powerhouse CKLW - also known as "The Big 8". Her influence altered the direction of CKLW and led to an annual award named after her. She was the subject of the song "Rosalie" by Bob Seger. ...................Grew up listen to that channel and also WKNR Kenner 13

Astro Wagon CKLW is a 50,000 watt, Class B, AM radio station broadcasting on the shared Mexican/Canadian clear-channel frequency of 800 kHz (800 AM) and located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, serving Windsor and Detroit. Additionally, its signal can be heard as far west as Grand Rapids, Michigan; as far east as Batavia, New York (and, at night, Hartford, Connecticut); as far south as Edgewood, Kentucky; and as far north as Posen, Michigan.[citation needed] CKLW uses a five-tower directional antenna with differing patterns day and night, to protect Class-A clear-channel station XEROK-AM in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and other neighboring stations on the same frequency. It is best known for having been one of the most influential Top 40 stations in the world in the 1960s and 1970s. During this era, CKLW used a very tight Top 40 format known as Boss Radio, devised by radio programmer Bill Drake. However, CKLW never actually used the handle "boss" on the air, just the style. Rather than a "Boss 30", CKLW's weekly music survey was known as a "Big 30". And instead of calling itself "Boss Radio", CKLW called itself "The Big 8". During this period it was the top-rated radio station not only in Windsor, but across the river in Detroit, and even in cities as far away as Toledo and Cleveland in Ohio.

Nobody has ever sung like Lynott. Ever. His phrasing was Thin Lizzy. I don't know what it was but it was v v special. Sarah was as far from a rock song as you could ever get but his voice was magical. I listen to TL at least every month. That says it all. What a talent
