I love your acknowledgement of the work of Black women in the context of curly girl techniques! So much of “curly girl” culture is based off of what Black women have been doing for generations and I feel like the curly community doesn’t recognize that enough

Thank you Sierra for mentioning that the use silk scarves came from black women!! It is so important to even just mention this fact. So much of our culture is looked down on because it is used by black people, and is often stolen, then praised by not only white people but many other cultures. Thank you, thank you thank you for taking the second to mention this 💖💖💖💖

OMG SIERRA thank you so so much for acknowledging that black women have worn headscarves for centuries. Something that’s always rubbed me the wrong way about the “curly girl method” trend is that a lot of the techniques and tools used are things that black women have been doing forever but suddenly it’s being presented in as this new innovative technology for white women or women with looser curl patterns.

CeraVe is a game changer. I was on some Sephora-sold skincare brands ahead of my wedding and I broke out like crazy. Went to a dermatologist in a panic and they pointed me to CeraVe and I’ve never looked back. They have great options for all skin types, but the moisturizing cleanser and lotion are wonderful for me and my husband steals both on a regular basis (no fragrance which is wonderful). My sister who is on the oily side rather than dry now swears by their oil-sensitive products as well.

the dyson air wrap is my favorite investment i've ever made on a personal product like that. it was expensive, of course, but i use it every single time i dry/style my hair and it is so incredibly convenient that i think it's worth every penny. if you get the higher level air wrap combo, it comes with a hair dryer attachment for it, and although it's not as strong as the regular dyson blow dryer, it works perfectly for me, plus i get all of the other amazing attachments! i will either air dry my hair like 60% of the way and then use the flat brush or curl wands depending on whether i want straight or curly hair, then on days where i don't have time to air dry for long before styling, i pop on the blow dry attachment and give my hair a rough dry about half of the way, then switch to the flat brush or curl wands. my husband also uses it (he would *never* blow dry his hair with a regular blow dryer, but he uses the flat brush to dry/style his hair a bit and loves it & finds it super simple to use). anyway, i just really can't recommend trying this product enough. it's awesome!

I personally still think fabletics is a scam with the roping you in with the vip and being forced to skip the month all the time if you don't buy anything and make it super difficult to cancel
@ninaasf-ck
2 жыл бұрын
Agree. I will say I *did* call to cancel and they told me they'd stolen like $100 bucks from me and I told them to provide proof I didn't skip in time and I'd let them keep it (I had a reminder on my phone and took screenshots/kept emails as proof). Of course they couldn't and promised to send me a check. Imagine my surprise when they actually did ☠️ I'm anti-fabletics but they did make it right in the end.
@nellemellen

I just canceled my vip membership and it only took 2 minutes? it was fully online, no phone calls necessary (tho they did strongly encourage me to call), and pretty easy. I hated skipping every month to avoid getting charged, but I was a vip member for over a year and I never had an experience with them that suggested they're a true scam, rather than just a business preying on people's forgetfulness/laziness (which isn't exactly rare or groundbreaking lol). just my experience tho
@jcrlb215

@@nellemellen I think they changed this recently, I had it for a few years because i tried to cancel multiple times but it was so difficult I’d get frustrated and give up. Hi Sierra, I really love your videos and I think it's great that you are usually really make an effort to be sustainable. However, every time I see you promote Fabletics I think it's such a shame, because their whole concept of monthly orders (and now this new weekly product launch) is exactly what's wrong with how we shop / use clothes. To buy new clothes so regularly from a fast fashion brand is about as unsustainable as it can get, so I really hope you'll reconsider promoting it to your audience at some point in the future. Absolutely no hate intended, but I know you care about the environment and many of your followers do as well, so I hope you understand.

I bought fabletics for the first time because of all the glowing reviews you gave on your channels and I have to say the products definitely live up to the hype. One thing, however, is that I have had the worst customer experience I have ever experienced, when dealing with fabletics for that order. It’s hard because your endorsement of their products is well deserved, they are great but you are also then endorsing the experience of receiving them and it was horrible. If anyone is considering buying them, I would go to a store and try them on because trying to return or getting anything shipped to you from fabletics is an absolute nightmare. All love to you, Sierra but definitely something to consider because some people might feel like you recommended a negative customer service experience to them even though I know that is never your intention.

Peloton recently told a veterinarian that they were not doctors in a customer email. Veterinarians just want recognition for the work that they do. It’s disappointing to see their response to them and also that they haven’t made a public statement regarding it.

I wore my pillow slides 24/7 this summer. I need to get a pair to save for next year!
