I have a 97 3.8l convertible camaro, got it as my first car from my grandparents. Cars got 186k miles on it, I love how strong the engine is.

I have a 95 Z28. Over the years I have done lots of stuff to it. Headers, catback exhaust, suspension, fiberglass hood, cold air intake, Vette wheels,BFG rubber, 97 SS rear spoiler, Kenwood stereo and lots of underhood bling. 😎

I like how positive you are about it's potential, as I feel the same way. I've had sooo many people say, "you should have just got a V8". Ya, well when you have a family, you get what you can afford! You get what works for your lifestyle. My car is a 96 RS that I have been working on for the last couple years. I'm from Maine where we use alot if salt to treat the roads in the Winter and being so low to the ground these cars just fall apart if they're driven in the winter. Mine will be more of a summer car when I'm done with it. Thanks for your videos, nicely done, and beautiful car, looks like she has been taken very good care of, except for the guy that broke the front ground effect! Lol 😉

Thanks man! The guy I bought it from was the second owner. The previous owners took really good care of it. It is practically like a new car....If I don't screw it up! Haha Enjoy your ride!

I had the same car (also black) minus the RS package, cloth interior and I put 17" C5 Vette rims with 275/40R17 BFG Comp TA tires. It wasn't a romping tire burner, but it was a blast to drive on the twisty roads where I live. I initially bought it just to keep miles off my new pickup driving to work every day. I miss it, it was a fun little car, and sure got good gas mileage.

Hi Dan, Enjoy your videos and just subscribed. I had 2 camaros over my driving career: 1985 Copper Berlinetta, a beauty with a matching interior. 305 cid V8 and T-tops. Had it for 10 years. Then I got a 1995 Blue metallic 3.4L V6. T-tops. A little underpowered but still loved it. Traded it in 2002. Your videos bring back great memories. Keep up the good work!

plestj thanks man. I had an 85 sport coupe in college. Swapped the tired 2.8L MPFI v6 for a 5.7L TPI. Man, I loved that car. I sold it to start a family. I found it on Craigslist years later, but didn’t have the money at the time to buy it back.

I own a 4th gen z28 I wish i had cup holders. You are spoiled Sir! I love my 93 z28. I'm learning about them as I go along. I inherited it from my older brother when he passed on. I was not a z28 guy growing up. I had a 64 GTO as a young 20 something. But I have learned to love my "new" Z.

Liked both videos, the love and hate of this model. Sad that the seats aren’t comfortable at all for long distance driving. I was thinking of getting a ‘00-‘02 Z28 convertible in an automatic. Eventually would drop an ‘03 Z06 corvette motor in.

Just parted out my 97 after owning it for 8 years. It was just a base 3.8 t5 open diff car with no power options. I drove it daily in winter too and never got stuck. It really all went downhill when my driveshaft broke off the body mount and beat the hell out of the trans. About that same time the lifter by the passenger firewall failed and it wiped out the cam. I pulled the motor and there was just too much to fix to justify the car. She did her job long enough. I have the video on my channel of her going to heaven. I had a 96 that also had lifter problems so seems like a common issue. Anyhow cool videos bud :).

Oh, by the way, my T-Tops don't leak. Even in a automated car wash. I'm amazed they don't. My brother was the original owner and hardly drove it. It is 2022 and the seals are still good. i do wish with gas prices it could use regular 87 octane. It is a small price to pay for the joy of driving it sometimes. It only has 106 thousand miles on it.

I share your opinion on the '97 Camaro, which I have as well. Might pick up some ponys by changing that intake. It really reduces in section between the air filter box and the radiator. Ugh! I like the rear gear ration and limited slip; as well as rear disc brakes.

I like that my first car is a Camaro. I have always liked camaro's. This camaro I got was a cheap camaro. My car is 1994 Camaro V6 3.4. Two things dislike my car is the engine wish was a V8 and the drive seat most 4th Gen alway have side rip on them like mine has. But it is alright for first car I ever owned. I mean 2 years like buy another camaro either another 4th Gen But Z28 next time around or buy 1988 IROC Z my dad had before wrecked it in summer when was a baby I mean my dad has given me advice on my car. That is to advice is to not drive it in the winter. I do like later year back lights on camaro like your car has.

I have a 1996 z28. I love the torque and power of the lt1. It's a reliable car despite 238k miles on it. It came from California and I don't drive it in the winter, little to no rust. For a v8 it's not bad on gas. I replaced all of the bushings with poly eurathane, handles like a slot car. Things I don't like. The paint is worn out. The interior has something to be desired for. That stupid piece of flex pipe on the exhaust that rattles. The opti spark not the best ignition design. Overall I love the car, drive it daily but not the winter, I have no interest in a new car I already have what I like

Does anybody have any tips for maybe buying a similar camaro? I live in Sweden and we dont have many imported american cars but i found one for about 5000$ and its going to be my first car and i think its really cool but my parents (dad in particular) doesnt think its a good first car because drinks so much gas and that its more unsafe in the winters we have here but i would love to have it... Its a Camro modell made in 1996.
