Nice bird!! I also am a firebird enthusiast. I currently own four third gens. and three fourth gens. I love em, there’s just nothing like em. My 1989 firebird formula 350 with t-tops in Maui blue is one of my favorites!! 👍🇺🇸

The 3rd Gens do feel very luxurious compared to other sports cars I've been in. Lots of space, and just feels awesome. The late 3rd gen 91-92, are my faves. That nose looks so stand-outish in person.

Yes. To this day, I haven't seen a muscle car as beautiful as these 30+ year old Trans Ams. The only thing that's come remotely close are the recent (ish) Chevy Camaros from about 8 years or so ago, they are also very nice looking. But the Trans Am is always going to be my favourite, you can blame Knight Rider for that.

ive done it many times, even with 27.5 mtb tires it was doable. Put the rear of the bike in first and then angle the front wheel so the bars are near flat and it will clear the hatch so the hatch can close

Well "captain thirdgen" what makes this a "WS6", a sticker on a center cap does not define a WS6 package. I've owned several third gens most of which were trans am from 1984 and up, some carbed some tune port. The one that suprized me the most was my '85 tune port 5.0 which I bought out of an auction. It was automatic 4spd 700 R4 trans with factory 3.42 rear gear and 16 in factory wheels and will be the first to tell you that car for what it was was not slow by any means and definitely sounded far better than your car you are showcasing here.
@CaptainThirdGen
3 жыл бұрын
what makes this car a ws6 is essentially shocks and sway bars, rear end ratio that differed from the normal trans am. This car also has a auburn posi 3.23 rear end from factory, base formulas/TA/Z28 had 2.73 standard with the 700r4. Also may have been a different steering box, but I cant remember for sure. The steering on this formula ws6 always felt way different vs my base 88 trans am. But both cars are over 30 years old now and who knows whats happened since they were new. And my modern standards, these cars are all slow. By 1988 standards they hauled serious ass, but essentially any car newer than 2010 out there with a v6 could smoke these cars stock vs stock. Heck, even a lot of modern turbo 4cyl these days could walk these cars with ease. These are great for shredding tires with the torque they make, however speed is not their strongest attribute, not even close. They are tons of fun, but they are not fast. As for sound, this car sounds bad to the bone in person, never would guess its only packin 205hp
