I’m not aware of what you’ll need in CSS. Please do your research. But if you don’t want to take medical or math, go for subjects like law, psychology, sociology, urdu, arts, philosophy, english literature/language. These were on the top of my head rn, which don’t include any of the material mentioned above. But do look into what your college offers. Good luck!

Alright, so basically, you have two options: applying through a school or applying privately. Applying through a school gives you the advantage to sit back and let your money work. You can also apply through an academy. You can apply privately by going on the British council website and registering yourself for an exam. You can hire a certified tutor who can guide you and tutor you for the syllabus (which you can find online as well)

I would suggest supernova as i studied from there myself, but if you want some fun along with your education, i would suggest i would suggest nixor in karachi, lahore grammar in lahore, and BMI in Islamabad. Honest opinion: schools don’t matter. I was in, what is considered one of the most prestigious institutions for Alevels in Islamabad, and nothing mattered. What matters is what is how hard you study and practice for the exam. Go anywhere. It all depends on you.

@@jesosnck sorry for the late reply man, but here we go: I forgot to mention I've been studying at lgs for the past few years lol. honestly I did not really enjoy my time there, due to frequent staff and teacher changes, excessive focus on debates and debates only (lgs has a name in the MUN community and such (tho if that's your thing good for you ig), not enough opportunities for other extracurriculars (and if there were, they weren't really advertised for everyone - not everyone knew k kab kia ho raha) and over reliance on students knowing exactly what to do, when, and how themselves without guidance from staff and coordinators etc., among other things. However they do have some really good teachers (I can only speak for sciences but the business students seem to really like their teachers as well. But I also only have experience with the LGS H8 O/A level faculty so this isnt a comparison with teachers from other schools). But there's a new principal apparently so things might change. Also, humara adha O levels corona ki nazar ho gya tha (as I'm assuming urs was as well) which killed my productivity and any study habits/desire to learn which I may have had. Because of this I wasnt able to get back on track so my experience in LGS was impacted by this as well. As for the other schools, here's my two cents: I visited Supernova, City and BMI. I researched a bit online and BMI seemed like the place to go while the consensus on Roots was essentially to go anywhere but there coz (this is a direct quote) "wahan pe parhai k ilawa sab kuch hota hai" so I did not consider it. Supernova was more or less okay but the principal was quite rude and seemed like she would not be willing to cooperate. They were gatekeeping their counsellors by not allowing us to meet them without getting admission first while every other school I visited did not have any such condition and we were free to meet anyone we wished to as long as they were on campus at the time of visit. Also apparently mahol boht strict and suffocating hai so yeah - ended up not considering it after only the first visit. City seemed nice but some of the staff including the headmistress did not seem very involved like un se info nikalwani parh rahi thi instead of them freely giving it away. Also both counselors only just joined and one of them was relatively inexperienced iirc so... but they have the smallest class sizes (which is a great plus imo), are apparently a worthy contender in sports, have a good collection of internship opportunities (especially if you want to go into IT since they had contacts with ufone and other similar companies) and seemed to give good advice for subject selection. Their scholarship offer is for both years of A level so if you get 100% scholarship right now but don't do so well in AS you wont have to worry about your scholarship offer going down. Imo it'd be a good choice if u do decide to go there. BMI has a lot of opportunities - they have the most common societies which are available in every school, on top of like 26 different clubs as well as internship opportunities. There's like 1200 A level students tho. They have both visiting and permanent faculty, and offer both German and French if you want to learn (you wont have to give the exam). But their scholarship for A2 is based on GPA so like in AS if you with 4 subjects get an AAAB for grades while someone with 3 subjects gets an AAA you'll get a lower GPA and thus a lower scholarship for A2 than the other person with 3 subjects. They seemingly have a lot of coaching for multiple sports and at the start of A levels you get assigned to one of 5 counsellors (in City u can go to the counsellers at any time but u dont get "assigned" to one like that for example). I met an old teacher from LGS there and they also said that BMI was the best option (their own child is studying there). One thing I'd like to point out here is that when I went to the coordinator she talked directly to me and engaged me first instead of my parents, which imo is a plus. They seem far more involved (by that I mean freely giving away info and seemingly helping to build ur profile and such) than any of the other schools. BMI is however the most expensive option but it definitely seemed like they give u the best benefits out of all the other schools. Imma have to disagree with @zoyasaad0 here as i believe k school does matter. I mean, its absolutely true k jahan bhi jao parhna khud hi hai and mehnat apni hi honi hai. And no one is going to hold ur hand and u will have to reach out for help urself at this level (and beyond). But environment ka bhi boht bara role hota hai. If ur in a good environment it'll be far easier for u to do the work than if u are in a bad environment and u'll save urself a lot of stress and tears (esp if ur easily impressionable like me. Choose to make things easier for urself now and ur future self will thank you). I'd like to say k if u can, definitely go and visit the schools you're interested in as nothing beats ur own impression of the school and staff and the vibes ur getting from them (definitely take ur parents along with you too tho, if you can. They'll often have good insights (assuming you have a good relationship with them and you feel like they care about what matters to you)) and don't choose a school just because your friends are going there. You gotta properly weigh out the pros of cons of the school and how it'll support your needs. Choose the school that supports your weaknesses, goals and aspirations the best instead of following ur friends coz the best option for everyone is different.

Gcse is not mtric I guess sp whats the difference rather WHICH IS BETTER IGCSE OR GCSE,according to you better is IGCSE.Thanks for replying
@@alinajaff Is it possible? A quick answer to this, yes. It is absolutely possible to go for A’levels after your matriculation in Pakistan, however most people are unaware that students can even consider that. Hence, students are not even presented with opting for a’levels as an option commonly, which is why it is considered a relatively daunting decision. If you look through the admission guide/entry requirements of some schools offering A’levels, you will most likely come across a portion that makes a statement regarding the eligibility for Matric students. Pros and cons: The Pros: 1) Conceptual learning We all know by now that O/A’levels are way more conceptual than Matric/Inter. Instead of plain memorising and writing things as they are, the students write the answers in their own words based on their understanding, not from a paragraph given in their book, as Matric/Inter students tend to do often. 2) Wide subject Range The students have a wide range of subjects to choose from, and you can usually make crazy combinations, in regards to what you want to do in your future. 3) Biology + Math In F.sc, a student has to choose between biology and math; they are not allowed to keep both as subject choices. However, in A’levels, the students do have the option to take both of these subjects together. There is nothing limiting them to do so. 4) Subject count In Inter, the students have four compulsory subjects i.e: English, Urdu, Islamiat and Pakistan studies (Islamiat in the first year, and Pakistan studies in the second year) and 3 elective subjects. In A’levels, however, there are no compulsory subjects and a student usually only chooses 3 to 4 subjects. The maximum amount of subjects a student can opt for is 5. 5) Academic awareness In A’levels, there is more awareness regarding academic opportunities and exams such as the SAT, ACT, the GRE etc. Most matric students have not even heard of such exams and they are not encouraged to give them also. (Side note: in terms of my personal experience, when I told my to-be f..sc teacher that I wished to give the SAT, she strongly discouraged it and said that I should think of giving it only if I wish to apply for LUMS) 6) Extracurriculars In A’levels, a student will come across a diverse range of extracurriculars. Plus, the environment established in a’levels sets this atmosphere which encourages students to indulge in activities apart from their studies. In Inter, on the other hand, extracurriculars are sort of discouraged and there is little to no diversity regarding such activities. 7) Studying Abroad A’levels are internationally recognised, hence proving to be a better qualification if a student wishes to study abroad. Inter, however, is a qualification of our local system and is not recognised internationally. The cons: 1) Expenses Since A’levels are internationally recognised, they tend to be more on the expensive side of the spectrum. Inter, however, is more on the cheaper side since it is a part of Pakistan’s local system. 2) University admissions A’level students face a super hard time in terms of entry tests since the tests are based upon the local curriculum of Pakistan. Even though those students may seem to be more capable, this sole reason limits their chances into getting admission based on merit in government universities. 3) Conceptual learning For some people, especially those who did matric, the idea of conceptual learning might seem a bit daunting. In A’levels, students are not limited to the book; they have to do their own research as well. Plus, one does a topic in full detail and the questions are unseen as well. 4) Number of exams In Inter, the students have to appear in one exam for each subject per year ( plus a practical exam for physics, chemistry, biology and computer). In A’levels, the students have to give 3 to 5 exams per subject over the span of two years e.g: Psychology has 3 papers, Chemistry has 5 papers etc.

IGCSE is better than metric. Primarily because it teaches your children to think critically about a situation and understand the concepts better. It’s would help them in their practical life too. But, it is also very expensive. If the children are not hardworking enough then metric would be a better option because (a) it’s cheaper (b) you’ll know what would you have to answer in your exams. Unlike O/A levels which are unseen.
