Been riding and racing since I was 11 years old, I'm 61 today and still ride road and dual sport bikes. Every ride is still the same as the year's before, be alert at all times and don't ride over your head.

Some wise words there, my old man said once that it doesn't matter what gear you wear or how good it is, just don't fall off it. That guy jumping onto them big rocks and over the gate.... jeez!

About what makes a good first motorcycle, I have to disagree with the displacement. A 250cc can get going 70mph. Eat a tree at 70mph, and what your displacement was doesn't really matter. A lighter bike has advantages for a beginner, but after your first year you should have learned to control the bike and make the engine, throttle, clutch and brakes handle weight issues. So, as far as weight, you should be able to pick the bike back up. That, IMHO, is the weight limit. I think you have to be able to afford the bike, insurance, training, maintenance, and gear. I think you should be able to get both feet down (Dirt and dual sport are an exception) You should be able to pick your bike back up. And it should be a bike you want to ride the rest of your life. Too many buy a bike with the idea they will trade up next year. Don't. Get it with the idea you will be on it for five years. You can always change your mind, but you shouldn't buy a bike you don't like and are going to hopefully get rid of in a year. Just get one you want to ride for years, from the get go. I know in Europe some countries have steps to the license and the bike has to be restricted to a power limit. In those places, you find many cheap first year, and second year bikes. But the law forces you to change bikes.

@T Mart if u steer toward that kind of bike, get proper dual sport for road/offroad use. 230 is generally a trail bike. U have options like: DRZ400 CRF250L or Rally WR250R XT250 KLX250(whatever end letters here too many i cant remember) They’re also fairly cheap to both own and maintain (depends on where u live), and reliable as hell. Especially if u hate maintenance, don’t look at european bikes. I own WRR myself. Love it. Owned CRFL before. Also loved it. Rode a friend’s Rally, loved it even more than those 2.

@T Mart Even 50cc chinese dirt bike have signals... If you don't plan on road use, 230 is a good place to start. But personally I would recommand jump to actual dual sport. For helmet, I'd say do your research first because I don't know much. It's not always about look, but also functionality that's why they all have different style/shape and price tag. But never cheap out on gears!! Especially helmet and boots. I own one of those indian made ADV style for road use and O'neal series 2 for dirt. Total for about $200. They work quite alright for me because "i never crashed" with them

@T Mart a dual sport won't pop from underneath you unless u rev its gut out. they're heavy, low power, easy to learn on. That is also exactly why you should stay away from european, especially their "dirt bike" since they look almost the same as their "dual sport". Actually they all look the same. Those I mentioned above should do you good. Even if you want to do wheelie they still don't want to so don't worry.

@2:35 You should be able to master an Mt-07 upwards starting out with an A license, not A1, not A2, not any of that half-assed crap. :) @3:34 Exactly, don't even dare to simp on a motorcycle. :) @5:02 Not taking any crap on the road is positive. Critical thinking is positive, etc. :)

Hmm saying that women don't care abt anything but a man's fat wallet is a very degrading thing to say. You must have problems with women bc you said 2 awful insulting comments abt women. If it wasn't for that I'd have given a thumbs up on this video and would have been a good video.

It was a joke. I obviously didn't mean that. It was a save from the "fat bulge in the pocket joke".. ofcourse women are amazing 😁
