THANK YOU so much for speaking into the “losing weight before the wedding” culture. It can be so toxic on top of all the other stress and life change you are dealing with at the time. Bodies are so fluid and always changing and the relationship that you are building is so much more important. Thank you for this perspective ❤️

Instead of doing a registry with physical items our friends had three “funds” the house fund, honeymoon fund, and a charity of their choice. You just picked which one you wanted and how much you wanted to donate and bam gift done! I loved it as a guest and can’t wait to do the same thing at mine!

We planned our wedding in 2 hours. I don't regret anything. And we spent less than 4k. It was an amazing day. I am glad we did it that way because I don't like stress and I truly wanted people to just have fun with us. It was remarkable. I have over a thousand photos...people still send me photos from that day almost 2 decades later. Be true to who you are and know that it is the FIRST day of the journey TOGETHER. Life isn't perfect. Embrace the process is key. And just enjoy the people you choose to share it with.

I’m planning my September wedding right now and this was helpful! My issue is with parents gifting money for the wedding, it made me feel like I couldn’t say no to their ideas, so I like Shawn’s perspective on it!

I got married at 22 and had 3 months to plan which was good because I didn't have time to second guess things. I'm with you on friends and family need to stay out of it, it is the bride and grooms day and not everyone and there dog needs to come, I had a few issues in that area.

This may be cultural to certain parts of the country, but I've never heard of this pressure that you speak of. The overwhelming majority of weddings that I've been to have been small, sub-100 people. Most semi-formal. Most have just a single course, no opportunity for seconds. I understand, it's cost effective. But I just went to a big, traditional, formal wedding recently and I thought that was really cool. Because I really haven't seen that before, I think it's very rare in the modern age.

@@philipnuno9121 She seems like a frugal person so the money she has will last. And Andrew signed a decent contract twice. He also seems frugal. They are well matched and probably want to raise their children and not work traditional jobs. Why are you following this channel if you are going to make such unkind comments?

@@philipnuno9121 Again. Why are you on their channel? I’m as old as you. I enjoy listening to the new generations ideas and choices. There is nothing wrong with what they’re doing? Young people will benefit. Maybe you should spend more time with young people you don’t know and maybe you’ll appreciate just how bright and thoughtful and creative they are. Please don’t respond to me. Thank you

Hey hey hey… Don’t throw real estate under the bus. Lol. I am a Realtor, and I take my oath as a Realtor, and the Realtor code of ethics very seriously. My job as your Realtor, as a buyer, is to get you the most house for the least money, and I never factor my commission into any decision that I make for you. That is part of the oath that I take as a Realtor and my code of ethics. That being said… Love y’all, love this topic, agree with everything else you said! :-)

The mayor officiated. My sister flew from Boston, and my nephew from D.C., and his mom, my other sister picked them both up in Philadelphia. Total cost was the cost of the license. I came from work, and the bride walked from the house. Totally casual attire. We married on a Thursday, because that was the day of mayor's open door policy. It took a couple of years to see pictures of the wedding. My wife is my anchor.
