As far as I know, it wasn't confirmed that Fatespeaker was born in the Talons of Peace (though correct me if I'm wrong). In fact, it would seem more likely that she was born on the volcano initially, but was eventually raised with the Talons of Peace. It was only said that they were raised to believe they were the dragonets of destiny. It never specified exactly where they hatched, and seeing as the plan to create the false dragonets was suggested later, it's more likely they were taken in at a young age. Hey for your point about RainWing blood, I study ecology, so here are some points that prove their blood could totally be red! There are tons of frugivore species (animals which eat mainly fruit as their diet, like RainWings), all of which have red blood! This includes bats, lots of bird species, and even some species of apes and canines. Also, there are human diets which primarily consist of eating fresh fruits and vegetables, in some extreme cases NOTHING else, and these people still have red blood. So why is that? All of these species still survive without consuming animal products because all plants contain a small amount of iron. As you said, nothing can survive without iron, meaning plants, too, can't survive without it either. Otherwise, all of the species in the rainforests that don't consume anything but fruit or leaves wouldn't survive. Herbivores and frugivores usually have to eat a lot more than omnivores or carnivores, though, in order to get the amount of iron (and other nutrients) that they need. Large species like cows have to consume literal TONS of grass or feed per day in order to survive. Since the RainWings are larger than cows, they'd probably be okay consuming fruit for the most part... they'd just need a lot of it. But I do agree that they should've been shown eating more nuts as most frugivores do consume nuts on a daily basis as well which definitely brings the number of things they need to eat per day down.

Possible theory for why Sky can speak dragon: You mentioned that dragons aren't born with the ability to speak dragon, but I think it's actually more of a difference in how Bumblebee and Sky were raised before hatching. We know that the Hivewings put their eggs in a quiet hatching place, where no one really talks, and that's where Bumblebee came from. However, I think that maybe the Skywing's eggs are perhaps kept in a place that's less isolated and quiet than the Hivewing hatchery, and they could hear words through the eggshell. So perhaps that's how Sky can speak dragon? I know it still doesn't make a lot of sense, but maybe Sky also learned from observing other dragons' speech and putting together what he knew with what he learned from that. This theory definitely doesn't make that much sense, and I think it's kindof me just grasping at straws- But that's what theories are for, right? /rh (also if I get facts wrongs, I haven't read Draghonslayer in like two years, oops)

While they are in the egg, it is still unsure if the dragonet will be born on the day they will have powers of some sort. But that would mean the teardrops form RIGHT before the dragonet is hatched! So premature and late dragonets would affect it…but what if the teardrops are already formed and the dragonet is very late? Maybe 1 week late? That would cause a problem
@thehyperscientist1961
Жыл бұрын
Truly interesting! There are a few things here I never realised and kinda brushed off (guilty). But there is some logic to a few of them. For Fatespeaker having powers, it is strange to think that no one else before her had ever gotten powers of any sort. But there's one key difference between her and others; she was chosen as a "back-up" dragonet of destiny. That could mean Fatespeaker's egg was moved to a different location from any hatchery the NightWings had. So it could be that only she had gotten her weak mind-reading because she was treated as different from the beginning. Now to Onyx's age gap. Sure, she's basically an adult going to highschool, but that happens in the real world too, albeit rarely. Onyx had basically lived in hiding for her entire life, so the concept of society would be quite alien to her. This is probably what Sunny had in mind to help her with, to help her get used to being around others. Now to the big one, RainWing blood being red. It's true that the RainWing diet would contain very little iron... under normal conditions. The turaco is a bird from Africa, famous for being one of the only animals to have a true green pigment in its body. This is most likely due to them living around the "Copper Belt", a large deposit of copper metal in Central Africa. The plants would take up this copper and store it in their fruits, leading the turacos to consuming a large amount of copper. That may be what's happening with the RainWings. There could probably a large deposit of iron underneath the rainforest, making all the plants there very iron-rich, which could be sufficient to supply the RainWing's haemoglobin. What do you all think? P.S. I see your videos have a new look to them, Moon. And it's awesome!

@@nightflyer1.1 The original Pantalan inhabitants had their own language, but Sunstreak was able to speak a little bit of Clearsight's language. The only explanation for Sunstreak being able to speak a little bit of the old language is because it was passed down from the generations, though it eventually evolved into what we can consider Pantalan. I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED ABOUT HOW SKY CAN SPEAK DRAGON! It's something that constantly nags the back of my mind XD. The best explanation I can offer is that dragons evolved to know what sounds means, over trillions of years, and just evolved to be able to understand them? Idkkk! Also for Fatespeaker's bit. Apologies if this gets a bit wordy. While many believe the NightWings lost their powers for thousands of years, maybe not totally. It is possible that some dragons with weak powers, such as Fatespeaker, had hatched over that time, their powers were just never really addressed. Perhaps dragons who were amazing planners got weak senses of visions, but they weren't clear enough and they were just percieved as 'thoughts of what might happen if this happens.' "Mind Readers" could be empaths, such as Fatespeaker, or may be able to pick up bits of information better. While we know that no dragon was said to have powers, it never said other NightWings hadn't hatched with the teardrop scale. And yes, I know Secretkeeper thought it odd to see them, that doesn't mean it's never been seen over the last 2000 years, just perhaps rarely. My other theory, if the one above proves to be insanely incorrect in all directions, is that that NightWing hatchery is in a cave, and Fatespeaker's egg somehow hatched either outside of it, or something happened to open moonlight over her egg. Of course though, the reason her powers are weak is because even if the egg was outside or exposed to the sky, the smog in the air would still smother much of it. Congrats if you read all that XD

You could definitely be right! Perhaps dragons with weaker powers weren't really acknowledged because their abilities weren't all that obvious. It would make sense, too-- the NightWings were constantly told it was impossible to have powers anymore, and that it was all fake. Surely if one of them felt like an empath of some kind, they'd probably think it's just their personality or empathy. I'd bet a lot of the NightWings with powers would be teased or ignored for their weirdness, which would be pretty ironic considering that if they were to have known about it, that dragon would have been worshipped.

I think the thing with Fatespeaker is that she claims to have visions, but it could be her saying things to get her friends to listen to her. As for chocolate, what if they just dry the beans and eat them? That would give the iron, maybe? But that is a stretch.

6:04 - 7:28 *My analysis on this part.* What about *Moonwatcher?* She could ( _kind of_ ) speak ( _or roar?_ _Dragons roar_ ) when she hatched. Evidence ( _good enough I guess_ ), Part from book 6 prologue: "...A long pause. And then, barely a whisper: “Mommy?" ... " This *might just show that dragons are hatched with the ability to speak.* Which would mean that Sky, being able to speak Dragon without learning, would make sense. *But* Bumblebee, hatched, and all we see is her *imitating and learning* from the others. Only in the epilogue of book 15 do we see Bumblebee speak proper Dragon. Also Moonwatcher's mother only visited her every in a long time. How could have Moonwatcher learned enough Dragon in that time though? Doesn't make sense. What I think is that Dragons develop the ability over time and with contact with other dragons, it develops faster. I guess. Or probably Tui intentionally gave the Sky the ability to speak dragon so the book would work out. This is my question: In The Dark Secret, Fatespeaker talked about how she was a seer, not a mindereader. Don’t the Nightwings have scrolls on that?!

My theory: she can actually read other dragons minds all those hazy “vision” are because she’s seeing other dragons memories playing over and over again in her head, that’s why she remembers the volcano, despite not being born there. That’s why her vision of being hit by the sky fire was probably her reading somebody else’s mind who thought it would fall on them. She could be the next clearsight except she’s a mind reader version, Clearsite didn’t have any special powers or anything he just took a lot of worrying and studying intricately. She was probably born In a cave with partial light that’s why her ability is so weak.

Another thing for the Rainwing blood, since they can absorb energy from the Sun they have to have some sort of liquid that allows them to do photosynthesis, aka chlorophyll, and chlorophyll is green which means that their blood should be a tad bit greener than other tribes, which means that there is green in the mix of Rainwing blood. 4:57 The age thing: It’s been a very complicated matter. I think I remember commenting about this topic on one of JMA’s videos. So anyway, the age thing has always baffled me. Our (Me and my sis, she introduced me to the siries, thanks a lot sis, would be here without you) first conclusion was that each dragon year is equal to 1.5 humans years. This was due to the fact that if dragons are 7 when a person is 18. Now 7 isn’t a multiple of 18 so we changed it to 2.5, but still, it didn’t feel right. Now on the comment I made on JMA’s video, one of the conclusions he responded with is that there is several different ratios. Basically, the first ratio is 2.57 (I’ve ran it in the calculator just now) and then we’ll I can’t remember. I have five different channels with probably hundreds of comments… I’ll have to find it, but for now, there are different ratios. Now the age thing is also weird because, what is the aged based on. I mean Ik they have a calendar, but. How do they celebrate their birthdays. What I’m saying is, is that, how is their age “related” to human age proportionately? Is their aged base off, mental deve

I always wondered about Fatespeaker as well! I heard about that interview with Tui, it still didn’t really make sense. I always thought she was hatched outside the volcano, in the shade or something, but I don’t know where I got that from and it doesn’t make sense. There’s just no real plausible explanation for it. Finally, someone brought up the Sky speaking Dragon. This really stuck out for me when Wren asked him what “map” was in dragon. A newborn dragonet wouldn’t know it??? Even if we were generous, and say Kestrel had them for a week, even a month (which is highly, HIGHLY unlikely), he would still only know a few words (mostly names) and *maybe* basic grammar, but being basically fluent? No way. And he couldn’t have picked it up while he was with Wren, since they purposefully avoided dragons as much as possible. This taught me a lot about blood and iron. Maybe they do eat a lot of legumes or nuts, but we just don’t see it? Like, they’re normally eaten as a side or something instead of the main meal, which is fruit for them. I always thought they had a diet similar to many types of rainforest monkeys, which is lots of fruit but also nuts and legumes. Also, maybe they’re bigger than real nuts (haha more inconsistent food sizes).

I'm pretty sure that Fatespeaker has the "teardrop" scale because she was very close to being born under a full moon. Starflight, although being born under three whole moons, does not have a teardrop scale because he was hidden under a mountain, with no exposure to moonlight. idk just my theory

There is something that I think makes zero sense about the teardrop scales. Even though mind readers only have them, in the official Wings of Fire coloring book ClearSight has them. I don’t know how this makes sense but maybe it’s a similar situation to WhiteOut? For the Sky situation Moon immediately says “mama?” When she was born in the Wings of Fire book six graphic novel. I don’t remember if it’s the same in the actual book but I only remember it happening in the graphic novel.

This isn't really something that doesn't make sense but it's been nagging me for a while, If Arctic had Blue Blood and Foeslayer had red, does that mean Darkstalker and Whiteout have... Purple blood? {Edit} Here's something that doesn't make sense, hybrids. Now before you ask me what I'm talking about let me explain, when you have two different species breed, you can get a offspring that inherits certain... "Traits" these can be dominant or recessive traits, with dominant genetic traits being the oned to most likely appear. However, to get a perfect hybrid as shown through the WOF universe you need to continuously breed the offspring you get, and it take hundreds and even thousands of tries to get that perfect hybrid that shows both traits from both species. And yet after one breeding, you get the perfect hybrid that shows traits clearly from both sides of the family. BUT that's just scientific logic, since this is a fantasy series maybe the rules are different? I don't know.

I’d like to mention the Fatespeaker analysis. She was likely born in a Talons of Peace camp, NOT the mountain. The books say she was born before the actual dragonets, so she was not born on the Brightest Night. (I think the moons having to do with powers is mentioned in Legends: Darkstalker) Since she was born under probably 1 or no full moons, that would explain why her powers were so diluted. IF she was born at the Nightwing kingdom, I’d assume that the Nightwings keep their eggs in a specific hatching room that would not give the eggs the ability to see the moon, while I think it was mentioned that Fatespeaker had already hatched by the time she was taken to the mountain. Most of this is based on my vague recognition of Darkstalker and The Dark Secret, so feel free to correct me in the comments. Completely off topic, but I wish that Starflight would’ve been taken outside while hatching, which would make him a powerful seer and mind reader. I get that there’s no way Kestrel, Webs, and Dune could’ve known that, but still.

For fatespeaker, I assumed she was born on the right night but due to the volcano covering the moon, she got got scales but not the power. I'm thinking plenty of other dragonets had the teardrop scales with no power and maybe the nightwings assumed it was just a rare marking or something genetic; and the reason fatespeaker insists she has powers is because she was raised as a prophecy dragnet and assumed nightwings are ment to have powers, so she must have them too.

About the onyx one, I’m no wof expert or anything so sorry if I mess up. I understand what you’re saying in relation to it being weird that Onyx is super old compared to all the younger students at the school. But it is more likely that the school is more for dragons that lacked education due to the war. it’s probably for dragons that were born during the war, and sense most of the dragons were busy fighting, the younger dragons probably lacked a proper education (assuming so at least). While I’m not sure if onyx was born during the war, it does make sense she should go to a school of this nature, she was roaming the desert with her mom, and probably didn’t have a vary good education, so it makes sense she would go to a school like this. And if that theory is wrong I have another. It could just have been simply that sense Queen thorn choose who went, she probably choose onyx because she knew that the never had a proper education. But anyway that’s just what I think!

Onyx was born before the war when Palm and Prince Smolder had the egg in secret. Oasis eventually found out, causing Palm to have to flee with her daughter. The War of SandWing Succession didn't last 20 years like the prophecy said it would, so I can understand the confusion. The dragonets left the cave before they were "supposed" to. It ended up lasting just a little less than 20 years, meaning Onyx was under the age of one when it began.

On top of Sky being able to speak dragon, i'd want ot add that it makes even less sense for Freedom or Cottonmouth to speak or understand it. Book 15 explains that the reason why both are able to talk to Dusky and Luna is bc Cottonmouth can speak dragon thx to Freedom, the same way she can speak human thx to Cottonmouth. But this doesn't make sense- Freedom was stolen from her parents as an egg, and only hatched when she was brought to Pantala. Which means that she never had any contact with dragons after her hatching. On top of that, she could only have been a few weeks old when she died. And I doubt Cottonmouth was able to learn dragon before he died either. We also know that neither of them has had proper contact with dragons until Wasp got possessed. My only guess is that they somehow learned dragon thx to Wasp, but even that doesn't make much sense, as Wasp first would have needed to give them permission to see her memories before they'd get connected enough to learn that kind of stuff. And how could she give them permission if they wouldn't be able to speak dragon? So the book implies Freedom and Cottonmouth were able to learn and speak dragon before meeting Wasp, despite neither of them having learned it during their lives, and also neither of them having seen or proprly contacted a dragon prior to Wasp. Who, might I add, is rather aggressive, and would prolly not have attempted to listen to a human and baby dragon if they did not know her language, especially not if the baby dragon kind of looked like a Silk-Leaf hybrid-

oh and just in acse anyone is reading this, icewings having blue blood makes sense to some extent; irl its found in arthropods that live in colder climates, as hemocyanin (the thing that turns blood blue once exposed to oxygen) contains copper instead of iron, making it worse at transferring oxygen throughout the system - but this isnt a bad thing as colder climates are generally more oxygen rich; espcieally in water.

If her powers are hidden doesn’t that mean she can awaken them or make them more powerful? Why I say this is because in the first book when clay finds out that he has fire proof scales, yes , clay had the ability because of his egg being the colour of dragon blood but as we learned that power was only in small scale under the mountain . It wasn’t until clay found some mud did his powers really become powers. And moon from moon rising had a similar thing. She was born out of the night wing kingdom but in stead the rain forest, sure she was born under the bright three moons better that fate speaker but from seeing pictures from the graphic novel version is shows her egg was hatched in a thick bush with probably lots of trees covering up too. It was only after she was in clear space for long enough did her powers start to work. If we follow these same rules with fate speaker, doesn’t that mean that she’s still able to fully get her powers? I mean even though she’s gone outside after book 5 and countinue to for the rest of the series doesn’t mean she has no hope, after all moon grew up most of her life out of the night wing kingdom.

Fatespeaker claims to have seen the future where the fake dragonets have a different breakfast, a new talon of peace, and more I can’t remember. 1:56 Darkstalker says she has weak powers, and I think he may be right, although it confuses me. The teardrop scales by her eyes are a hint to her mind-reading powers, but it is mentioned in Moon Rising that they’re not as bright as Moon’s. I think this shows she somehow has the power to at least sense the feelings of other dragons. It makes no sense, considering she was born on the volcano (read The Dark Secret if you don’t believe me), and you can’t see the moon there. But some of her visions also came true, and they were very weak as well. I suspect that Fatespeaker was born on a night with two full moons, and she was outside the fortress when she hatched. There may have been some very faint moonlight filtering through to the island, and that’s how she got her weak powers. But that’s just a theory, so I can’t be sure, but that’s what I personally think. 2:46 maybe Tui said she isn’t a seer, but can that explain how a few (very few) of her “visions” came true? I’m not sure, this makes no sense, tbh. Darkstalker also said that she isn’t a seer, but still… 7:04 ok, even though Kestrel didn’t keep them hidden for long, it’s very possible that she spoke to them, and when Scarlet found them, she spoke Dragon. It’s a very confusing concept, but like you said, they seem to learn through imitation. Sky must’ve imitated Kestrel. I know he shouldn’t have been able to speak Dragon that well, but still. Also, it’s said that Wren seemed to speak Dragon better than Sky himself, so I don’t know what’s up with that. I hope you get the gist of what I’m trying to say 😂😅 I think I made a very long argument about these things 😂😅😅. I agree that those things made zero sense tho. I’ve always wondered EXACTLY how Fatespeaker got her powers, and how EXACTLY Sky can speak Dragon so well, considering he got thrown in the river not long after he hatched. Sorry this comment was so long, and have a good day!😅😅

Good observation about the teardrop scales description! However, regarding Fatespeaker's "visions," her predictions that came true were more of just guesses or things that were obvious, like how meeting Battlewinner was going to be "scary." I think that's a decent assumption to make. As seen from Whiteout's prophecies, they still needed to be decoded, they weren't just stating the obvious. Plus, most of what she said never happened, or even seemed like a possibility of something that *could* happen. Normally I would be able to consider the possibility of very very weak mindreading (especially because sometimes she got half of the truth), but Tui saying she isn't a seer really makes me believe it.

@@Dogloverlikesdoge yeah, I know that Tui said that she’s not a seer… and I know that her “visions” were guesses, but I still feel like she might have the teeniest bit of future seeing. Moonwatcher is able to feel other dragons (and scavengers) emotions, especially when you touch them, but she can also read their thoughts. That's the same with Fatespeaker, too. But as hers is much weaker she can only read their emotions... She's an empath!

My feelings about Fatespeaker are that there's still an Animus strain running through the Nightwing's genes, but it rarely comes out in full strength anymore (like with Moon). Also, considering how the Nightwings felt about the whole Darkstalker thing, it seems that such powers aren't seen in a good light in the tribe anymore. So Dragons born with them quickly learn to keep quiet about it. Moon's mother refers to her daughter's ability as a "curse" in Book 6. So Fate has some small empathic ability, but its not fully developed. Onyx, yeah, it was odd. Perhaps when Sunny was first creating the Acadamy, there was a lot of hesitation from the other tribes about sending students. So when Onyx showed up with questions, and Sunny realized she had nowhere else to go, she offered her a spot? Onyx accepted, not having any firm plans otherwise.Making her a teacher, perhaps in hunting, probably would've been a better call though. Sky speaking Dragon natively also jumped out at me in the book. Maybe the basics of Dragon language are pre-wired into them as they develop in the egg? Or as someone else mentions below, Dragon parents talk to their eggs, and the pre-hatchlings can hear and retain some of it? Either way, it was one of the main zero sense moments in the books for me. Rainwings are probably a lot more omnivorus than they might first appear. I think Lana mentions avoiding eating certain types of frogs in Book 3. Fish and other aquatics would be easy to catch by placing a net in a river, and coming back a few hours later and hauling it in. Birds, birds eggs, and animals like pigs, capybaras, small deer, etc, wouldn't be too difficult for them to hunt either. Fruits and veggies just probably make up far more of their diet than they do for any of the other Tribes.

I just reread The Dark Secret and I think I have an answer. Fatespeaker said that she was hatched on the volcano but Morrowseer brought her to the talons of peace camp when she was still newly hatched. I think that if at least one of the moons was full that night, then she still gained some very weak powers because she was still under the moonlight not long after her hatching.

Also Onyx at the beginning Moon was able to read her mind and whenever Moon got introduced to her she couldn't but in both of the situations she was wearing the black stones that make it where Onyx mind couldn't be read. I don't know if it's on the original book but on the graphic novel it is, and in the graphic novel you can find this happening when everybody's thinking about how weird Moon is.

Somewhere in the books it mentions Kestrel being found by scarlet and her soldiers an entire year after her egg hatched, that is definitely enough time for a dragon to learn how to speak. Moonwatcher manages to speak after being born 40 seconds ago

The book said that they were newly-hatched. It never says that a year passed, just that the eggs hatched and everyone saw how Sky had no fire and Peril had too much of it. Scarlet tried to kick Kestrel out of the breeding program forever and wanted the dragonets dead (per SkyWing tradition). "But Kestrel tried to escape. She took her two dragonets from the *hatching cave* and *tried* to flee with them down the mountain." A quote from Osprey in The Dragonet Prophecy The way dragons learn to speak is pretty inconsistent and confusing, but the most clear we've seen is Moonwatcher whisper faintly "Mommy?" Bumblebee just babbled even though she was around dragons. She was learning the language slowly, which is how we can assume most dragons do. In Moon's case, she probably heard the word in his mother's mind. That doesn't happen with the typical dragonet. Sky understanding how to speak that quickly is quite farfetched. He had been around dragons for not very long, yet was still able to make a joint/combination language of dragon and human with Wren. Even if he did learn things slowly over time by visiting dragon villages and whatnot, it would have taken quite awhile and I'm not sure how others would have reacted to him not knowing a single word at such a old age. Dragons grow and learn very fast.

I don't think rainwing blood being a different color holds much truth. As stated, hemoglobin (more specifically, heme) is paramount in characteristic red blood; however, the foods you mentioned lacking iron don't cover the full rainwing dietary palate. For instance, strawberries, apples, bananas, & pomegranates all contain sufficient amounts of heme to constitute at least semi-red blood. These are all fruits mentioned by rainwings in books 3/6. For the rainwings to have non-red blood, they would need to avoid eating all of those fruits in excess; however, we see in books 3/6 that the rainwings have no issue laying around eating fruit all day, and they would naturally have to be eating a fair amount of these fruits given the selection size. As I stated, eating these fruits will produce enough heme for AT LEAST semi-red blood. We also have to consider that the rainwings devote several hours a day to sitting in the sun, which optimizes the body's nutrient intake, therefore passively increasing ferric (iron) intake. Further evidence for the rainwings having red blood is that none are anemic or sideropenic, both disorders caused by low iron intake/decreased hemoglobin (and are common for vegetarians). This is proven in book seven when kinkajou is attacked by chameleon. Had she been anemic (low hemoglobin or iron), she would've folded like a lawnchair after being hit, since there wouldn't have been enough iron to support her bones (assuming she ate like the other rainwings, therefore having too little hemoglobin for red blood, causing anemia). In fact, for your theory (rainwings don't have enough hemoglobin for red blood) to work, none of the rainwings would be able to fly since there wouldn't be enough iron or heme in their blood to support their bodies. They would all have osteomalacia from a lifetime of eating low-Ferrum foods! The only scientific way that rainwings could have non-red blood is if they were biliverdic. Biliverdin is caused by erythrocytes (red blood cells) breaking down hemoglobin inside them, causing jaundice (green/black blood), which kills if left untreated. Despite this, there's a species of biliverdic lizard that exists naturally. However, if the rainwings were like these lizards, their entire look would be different, and their blood would be poisonous & green. With that, I digress; if you care enough, feel free to check my facts, I just quoted some stuff from my anatomy/bio 102 notes, so I could be dead wrong.

7:03 first off of bumblebee is basically a newborn(it’s barely been a year since she was born) and the sky was about the size of a cliff(which is me guesstimating) so he couldn’t have been that young. Maybe he couldn’t talk, but he did have a slight grasp. Combine that with probably hearing bits and pieces from dragons while traveling with wren you could probably speak a small amount of dragon You have to remember there were words both of them did not know.

Fate speaker was born in the Talons Of Peace camp, so her egg has seen one moon. So she came out to have a very weak power of seeing the future, but in one of the books DarkStalker explained that only mind readers have silver scales. Maybe she can read mind’s faintly that she dose not notice it. Just a theory you can talk about in another video…

I believe it's because she was raised with moonlight or something? And if you think about it, Starflight could have been had the mind reading and strong foresight like Clearsight if he wasn't hatched under a mountain

Definitely think that sky kinda made up their own language a bit. In order to communicate for sure, because im pretty sure we've met (or was) that one kid in 1st grade who made up their own language. So maybe Sky kinda knew a few words to begin with... And just made up a couple tweaks of the dragon language, which would make him not great at understanding or commutacting thoughly with other dragons, and it would be the same with wren too because she picked up the dragon language from Sky.

I don't think Fatespeaker was born on the volcano, but I haven't read the first arc in forever; and I think she might have some kind of very weak seer powers, because remember she thought the comet was going to fall on them? In the graphic novel we only see a large fireball falling from the sky when Peril swoops down to save Clay because she was going so fast, so I think that's what she saw, if she saw anything

Abundant dietary iron can also be acquired from artesian sources. Scotland is rather famous for having water sources that are so rich in iron, the country exports it as a supplementary source, and turns it into a soft-drink/soda - Irn-Bru's catchphrase is that it's 'Made in Scotland from girders'. XD Iron-rich soil and rocks are also another good source for animals in nature. It's not uncommon for animals to voluntarily consume dirt for various purposes.

Sky and Wren would sometimes encounter dragons while traveling. They would avoid meeting them, but listen in to what they would say. Dragons can pick up language fast, and while still a dragonet, Sky saw other dragonets speak, and may have picked it up from them

The reason is because Fatespeaker was born very near a full moon, or the moon was not as bright, as you said. 1 full moon equals prophecy or mind reader, or something like that. 2 full moons equals both mind reading and seeing the future, 3 full moons means that the powers are stronger. Although I have many questions as well, this is the best explanation I can give.

Fatespeaker's was hatched with the Talons of Peace, not on the island. I think she is an empath, which explains her teardrop scales. Yes, I don't know why she clearly had a vision in the epilogue of book 3, and in book 4 she states that she is born a few months after Starflight's hatching, so she probably was born under one full moon? Edit: Yes she can see very close futures I think. Reread The Hidden Kingdom's epilogue.
