Yea but at the end of the day it’s a salesperson job where once your licensed you get to choose what avenue you go down and create your own schedule being a real estate agent is like being a business owner and you are your product and I feel like that’s what a lot of people fail to realize

In South Africa there is no real estate school you go to an agency and work under a qualified agent for a year literally hit the ground running from day 1 and then after considering the hours, sales, and progress sheets you get your qualification and can work independently. We're working on our own and constantly learning as we go!

Being a good real estate agent requires having some integrity, being honest and transparent so clients can trust you, and knowing the difference between a property built in 1970 and 2005.

Absolutely agree with real life training. Start to finish a transaction,staging and open house until a new agent is very comfortable on their own.

I absolutely agree with you! The license is just to teach you the legal aspects and make sure you dont take advantage of people. They dont have to show you how to run a business.
@SavannahFamilo

No they don’t have to, and “figuring “ it out might lead to trouble with clients, a transaction or law. I am very fortunate to be at Berkshire Hathaway where a very very knowledgeable and helpful office manager showed me everything so I don’t crash and burn and could excel in my career. She didn’t have to but she goes above and beyond to help make us all successful.

So you’re now about 6 months in. What would you say your financial situation looks like? I was thinking of getting my VA RE license but I’ve heard scary stories regarding being a RE agent. Would you say you financially stable?
@johnreyles4465

@@Koisuu It's kind of scary at first specially as a new RE agent. In the beginning I was only doing RE part time and working my full time job so i could still pay my monthly expenses. I'm slowly becoming more financially stable with being a RE agent and in fact I already put in my 2 weeks for my other job to do RE full time. I got lucky because I immediately got clients through my connection working at BMW dealership here in CA so some of my first clients are co-workers and customers at the dealership. Definitely got to do a lot of open houses to get in front of people to be able to get a chance to work with them. Also depends on where you live on how stable it will be. CA has been stable at least here in Northern California.

The licensing isn't training for the field though, thats up to a person to figure out. Its not a degree, its not supposed to teach how to do the work. Its just making sure laws are understood.

try getting your license to be a mortgage broker! Hah! I call it the minimal amount that you need to know to keep you out of jail! Basically, there is not much practical information that could assist you out of the gate to help you get business and close a mortgage. These licensing programs need to implement actual skills that you need at the REAL job.

Yes, quality>looks. Just provide better service in your field of work. Plus, comparison is the thief of joy, nobody is like you so take advantage of that and be the best you can be. Take care of yourself and focus on yourself. It’s too easy to become distracted

Or maybe it's just that the attractive agents are the most viewed therefore populating it into your feed more often. I know quite a few agents who aren't model material (myself included) and we are successful! Another point: agents have SO much training available to them. A lot of us who are involved in trainings, growing our business, and being more efficient ALSO hear a lot of advice on how we present ourselves. While I'm not coming from a place of vanity, there is a lot of value in dressing professionally (business attire) so you will likely find many agents (also such as myself 😂) shooting their social posts on we are in a solid mindset (and not putting out real estate transaction fires and pulling our hair out) and on a business roll 🎉 That's my 2 cents!
