Grew up around hogs on the farm in my youth ,left the farm to make a better living for my family and found out many years later money and glamor was not what life was about in the first place , money can become an addiction that cant be cured. now many years later were back on the farm broke but truly blessed with the love of grandchildren and there raising and showing hogs with the FFA and old grandpa and his old woman has ( free ) advice ready when they ask . But like me in my day they never ask and learn on there on .Learning to trust God in his way. .

Last year my wife and I bought a 5 acre "farm" as my kids and friends call it. It's settled between 2 subdivisions which isn't really that bad. We've got chickens for eggs and rabbits for meat. The kids enjoy it and I've made them aware of the rabbit phenomenon of disappearing, after eating a few. The kids are fine. I made mention to a friend that I wanted to raise a pig. 2 weeks later he calls and says to come pick them up he had gotten 3. LOL!!! I rushed a pen together rather quickly. I wish I had seen this video before my friend got the pigs. There were only a few hiccups along the way. Great job on the video!

I know a guy who bought old retired horses for a few bucks, shot them, and fed the horsemeat to the pigs. Withing the few months the pigs were ten times bigger. When the horses ran out, he simply emptied out the garbage cans outside the restaurants, took it home in trash bags, and the pigs ate it.

What do you mean bacon made from plants? That is not a thing that exists. And please don't say that textured soy protein crap, because that is NOT bacon, and it has had so much processing done to it that it is no longer a plant either. Gross.
@isabellezablocki1102
6 жыл бұрын
Made from wheat and beans. Delicious. Bacon is just a word, that usually refers to pieces of flesh taken from pigs, but it can be also from beef, turkey... Why not from plants? Much healthier too. Bacon has been classified from the WHO as a number one carcinogen. So even textured soy protein "crap" is better.

Dutch raised those hogs to feed his family. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. He raised them humanely, with respect, with dignity, with real care. They have had a wonderful life...and the meat in them will become life for his family. The strength of the hogs will become the strength of his family. Dutch cares for his livestock the way most people care for their pets...but he raises them to become food for his family. That is the way it has been since the dawn of agriculture, since man first learned to raise their own food instead of chasing it down with a pointy stick and poking holes into it until it was dead. All across this nation, there are farms that raise cows, hogs, chickens and turkeys for meat production. Unfortunately, it has become the factory farm, the mega-farm that raises the bulk of the meat animals...and injects them with growth hormones, antibiotics and other nasty stuff that is not well suited for human consumption. Dutch knows this....and thus he is raising his own meat animals...free of growth hormones, free of antibiotics. Clean, natural, healthy meat.
