Used FiestaST150 Buying guide
I get asked questions about what to look out for when buying a Fiesta S150 all the time so I decided to put together a big video together with everything you'l need to know when going to buy a Fiesta ST150.
Any other issues I haven't mentioned put them down in the comments so we can help people when they're looking to buy their Fiesta ST!
It's split up into three sections:
1. Walk Away - Walk away form the sale, these are things that are gonna be to expensive to fix or make a car underivable!
- Bottom end knock
- Gearbox issues
- Timing chain slack (rattle)
- Waterpumps
- Burning oil
2. Re-negotiate the price - These are things you can use to wiggle a better price out o the car during negotiations.
- Power steering pump
- Stiff gears when hot
- Thermostat stuck open £15 easy job
- PCV valve (dodgy idle)
- Stalling in reverse (idle issue)
- Seat catches / handles snapped / not working
- Wheel arch rust
- Heated front window partially working
- Pre-facelift (make sure engine is cold before starting having issues starting up first time - ECU update £90
- Broken Springs are common - will fail or be an advisory on an MOT so I’d check the paperwork and check the springs
- Rusty Brake lines
- Heated seats
- Auto wiper, lights and folding mirrors working?
3. Dont worry - these are thing you don't need to worry about with the car so go ahead with the purchase!
- Crunch into reverse
- Dodgy idle on cold startup
- Some Warning lights on the dash
- Bonnet Stone chips
Below are the video I used to show example of issues:
