Eve also stated that LEO was heavily inspired by a manga he read called Hell's Paradise and I can see the resemblance from it

I have always enjoyed Eve's discography, but recently I've been paying more attention to his lyrics. I'm not sure what led me to find Leo, but it quickly became one of the most important songs to me. There's so many interpretations to the lyrics and I enjoy that open endedness to his songs. One of the theories I read was how the lyrics equate to depression, suicide, and unable to find the love he was seeking [Leo] (mostly the sirens halfway through the song and the morse code) and everytime I hear it, it hits super deep to me. Lately, I've struggled a lot with my mental health (always have, but it's felt worse lately) trying to find where I fit, searching for love, for friendship, meaning and how to overcome my mental illness. This song felt like it expressed every word, every feeling, emotion, in my head and heart. It means a lot to me that I can read into these lyrics and find comfort in knowing I'm heard. That it can express the pain I have trouble saying. Eve has quickly become my favorite artist, and so quickly has his music become so important to me.

I really like this interpretation! I thik something you missed was at the start of the 2nd verse, the base comes in in a gravelly undertone type of sound while the animation looks like a sound wave until it turns into the water. I think that represents that music for Leo (or maybe Eve?) is a way to encompass his loneliness and control it, so when he takes out his umbrella just after it shows that the music isn't quite doing it for him anymore and he needs to prepare against his loneliness or emotions getting out of hand.

I'm glad I found your channel✨, Eve's songs are always interesting to discuss about. I think in the end of the MV, Leo can't hold his emotions inside anymore, despite being scared to express them, so the sphere with "uneune" breaks. Also during this part, voice doesn't sound as clear as before - "Please respond to me", it might be a woman trying to reach to him again (or leo saying it but still only in his mind), even though he is no longer around. After that the voice is clear again, and Leo mentions making her say goodbye. As you said, the dark liquid affects both of them, like if "uneune" that was moving around her ankles as a smoke before reached her at some point (or at least is trying). It seems like the screaming "smoke" came out of Leo due to him loosing composure, maybe he finally tries to share the pain he was hiding with that woman, and then the smoke dissapears? (this inability to live with pain can sure mean him deciding to commit suicide, like some people commented - plus he closed his eye, but maybe the story went in another direction). Oops, that was longer than I expected😂 just wanted to share my thoughts. Anyways, thank you for explaining MV's! Hope you'll be noticed more in the future❤

Damn, I've been going on an Eve obsession recently, often being touched by the lyrics and stuff. But from the first time i heard Leo it resonated just from how it sounded, then i looked for the lyrics and got hit more, wanted to understand it better and got to your video and i gotta say... This really speaks to me, i feel like ive been stuck in a loop for some years and the last couple of months have gotten even worse, but don't feel like i can say it to anyone, wanting ti be alone but not at the same time... Eve is too much And, wether you get to read this or not... thank you from the bottom of my heart too, for making me connect more with the song

The morse code was popular because Eve shared it in a story. Eve was happy that the person payed attention to details but he didn't confirm that it had any significance.

My name is Leo (chosen by myself), and it wasn't specifically because of this song, but it was definitely a factor, and the meaning of this song has definitely made my name feel like it has a real story. I won't spill my whole life story in the comments, but there are definitely parallels between Leo in the song and me before I accepted myself. I like to think that because I was able to finally accept myself and speak out, I was then able to make true connections with people, free of guilt and loneliness. The name Leo reflects my journey to get here, where I am now, and I'm so much happier than I was.

Really enjoyed this one. A question and a remark: 1) Do you have links to the interviews? Either English or Jap is fine, i can read both. 2) The ending remark is very reminiscent of a MV i'm analyzing currently, Inochi Bakkari; however, that video is much more critical of the viewer than it is just empathizing. This song always felt more personal to me, and Eve literally stating it was his fav song on the album by far, egging ppl to listen to it before it released, and this arguably being his 3rd best song (Dramaturgy and Tokyo Ghetto are 1-of-1 classics, they'll prolly never be surpassed) as well as one of it not his most impressive production/singing feat...ton to digest and was indicative of the severity & passion he had to his thesis Again, great vid, they're always great, but i figured I'd stop shadow watching and say something this time 😂😂
