no way all helmets are the same.. Arai are not only meet but exceed safety standards. Some cheap helmets do pass safety standards but you dont want to engage in an accident wearing them…. You say that an 100 euro helmet with EC approval has the same safety as an ARAI… i dont think so.

To be clear, we say that the majority of helmets are designed to meet the same (22.06) safety standard. At the same time, you're correct in saying that brands like Arai, who base a lot of their identity on making the safest possible helmets, go beyond those safety standards and are always a good choice if you're looking for a reliable helmet in the event of an accident. However, on SHARP, you'll find numerous examples of relatively budget friendly helmets matching the safety test performance of popular and expensive Arai models like the RX-7V. Basically, our advice is to not to automatically assume that expensive helmets are safer.

@@Championhelmets Thank you for your answer. I also wanted to clarify that there are many helmets out there that where designed to pass 22.05 (hardened at specific areas only) which could be considered as death traps given the false impression there were safe. With 22.06 hopefully this will not be the case anymore. Nonetheless not all 22.06 are created equal.

what a contradiction. if you've got plenty of money, fine. but a lot of people don't 'need' everything that makes Arai one of the most expensive choices on the market. if a cheap helmet meets safety standards and fits and feels great to someone on a budget, then anything more expensive _is_ wasting money.
