Thanks for watching! :)
Sorry I've been gone for a while... I'm going to try and address some of the questions from the comment section below :)
I forgot to mention the enclosure is just a tupperware container from Target or Walmart- you can get a really big container that's not too expensive compared to big glass tanks. Plus they are a lot lighter so they're easier to carry outside for changing the substrate. If you have a tortoise who loves humidity, you could even cut the lid in half so that the lights don't have anything under them but the rest is closed to retain humidity.
The structure is something my brother helped me build- it took us about two hours but it was definitely worth it. We used some plywood and cylinders from Michaels which we put together using screws (for the legs of the structure) and duct tape (for the ramp so it can bend to fit your substrate level). We wrapped hemp string around the ramp so he could grip it.
Tortoises don't really play with toys but you can do a couple things to keep it interesting for them :) Some tortoises like pushing around ping pong balls (like I mentioned in the video) but Leonard's favorite thing is to push around the substrate and dirt to make hills that he digs under. Pay attention to what your tortoise likes so you can do what you can to make things more interesting for them (like adding dirt). One of the best things you can do is try and change the setup whenever you change the substrate in the enclosure so they have a new place to explore every once in a while. They especially love going outside to bask in the sun and explore (just make sure to keep an eye on them- they move surprisingly fast). In the winter, I let him roam around the kitchen (on tiled floor because they sometimes make messes- just make sure to use Lysol wipes wherever they walked after you put them back). If your tortoise has a favorite food, you can try hand-feeding them (Leonard loves eating strawberries straight from your hand :) ) which gives them some good interaction.
I hope that answers some of your questions! Thanks again for watching! :)
