Definitely noticed that. Somewhat experienced drifter but god mustangs love to spin out. You have to tend to it carefully.

@@tagallstarhey quick question. When you say the traction control system isn't fully disabled, is that even when you disable the entire thing by holding it down longer? I can't remember exactly how it worked, but I thought you had to hold the switch for like 5-10 seconds in order to fully disable it. Does that still leave some of the safety functions enabled even though it disables traction and stability? In my S197 it's the same thing,I hold it down and it fully disables, but I'm curious if there's still some times that it engages.

@@Greatest_Scott even after you hold the button for 10sec, the stability control will turn on when it detects high wheel speed relative to your ground speed. Which isn’t good if you are trying to drift

I will say the 5.0 having very little torque is a big reason too why people tend to crash them. Unllike a camaro, challenger, corvette, or turbo car with big wide power bands, the 5.0 engine only makes enough power to break traction very high up in the rpm 4.5k+. Because of this, if you are just below that rpm range (say 3-3.5k) and you try to kick the back end out, there will be a slight delay where the engine bogs, then kicks into the power band which upsets the car and is unpredictable. This high RPM power band is also an issue because your wheel speed is therfore 2x that required to break traction as in an SS or 392. This means when the car does hook back up if you try to roll your burnout, donut, or drift into a takeoff, the car will hook up much more quickly and aggressively. So if you're wheel isn't stragiht, it's going to cut off sideways pretty hard. Of every sports car I've drive, the Mustang is definitely the touchiest when trying to initiate drifts, donuts, etc but its the tradeoff you have to make for an engine that's so satisfying to rev out.

Well said bro, that is 100% true, I have those struggles with my car bogging down anywhere below 4k. Kinda reminds me of having a turbo car. But aye I love hearing it sing after a few clutch kicks

Good vid bruh, definitely touched on alot of good topics that people getting these cars dont understand and wreck they shit tryna manji some bs like they in a 350z!!! Dont forget everybody, the s550 stock "lsd" is absolute shit as well and does not help aid the steering at all either so id suggest a welded, 1.5 or 2 way diff if you really plan on doing ALOT of skids in your s550 it will help get SOME.....ONLY SOME of that og self sterring feel back that most of us are used to in a drift car. You are still gonna have to work the wheel no matter what the setup is but alot of little things like the upgraded diff i mentioned and modded knuckles help you work alot less behind the wheel and make the car more enjoyable/tolerable to drift.

Lol you are fine, believe it or not, most newer cars have this traction control issue, the 350z & 370z require you to cut wires and do other stuff to disable traction control fully, there’s many cars with that issue because they aren’t supposed to drift from factory. Just be safe and get comfortable with your car. And most importantly have fun

So you completely left out the most important parts. First you need to get yourself a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, Hellcat or Demon, preferably a Widebody because they come with the adaptive suspension. Carefully remove the body from the chassis (you will need it later after you wreck your mustang). Carefully remove your mustang body from it's chassis if you haven't wrecked it already. Now, try to get that mustang body on the Challenger chassis and hope the wiring harness has an adapter, then go wreck.....I mean drift your car and try not to damage the chassis because you will need to put that Challenger body back on it. You are very welcome.

If I choose to take out the fuse do I need to unplug the sensor as well? Do I also loose power steering if I just take out the fuse and keep the sensor plugged in? Also last dumb question once I remove the fuse or unplug the sensor I wouldn't have to keep turning traction off correct?
@tagallstar
Жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried pulling the fuse but you’ll still have power steering, you’ll just loose abs of course. I’m actually not sure if you have to still unplug the plug if you also pull the fuse, I’ve done some more research and it seems that everyone only unplug the sensor and remove the fuse if they are removing abs all together. When you unplug the sensor it automatically turns off traction control, and stability control for as long as it is unplugged. Thanks for asking man, I hope I was able to help

@@SLlPPP my shift knobs came from ebay, such as my blue dragon ball knob and my gt350 knob. I don’t have any links for it and my current knob is a RTR knob. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it man. It all depends on what you want in a drift car. Every car has areas that can be improved upon and can be fixed with mods. Honestly getting used to the steering isn’t hard and if your can master it, you’ll have an easier time drifting other cars. I say that not because this car is necessarily hard but because this car forces you to learn how to adapt to it’s steering in many situations you might be in while driving. I personally love the S550 and the steering doesn’t bother me because I literally drove on the sim with gaming wheels that had barely any self steer. Just evaluate which car will potentially be the best chassis for your driving style and what you want. Have fun with it

@@tagallstar yeah see im used to more of a snap like an S chassis. I saw you play on AC. I do as well on my downtime and on the off seasons. You ever thought about adjusting the caster for quicker centering? Unsure if that would help with the S550 setup.
@tagallstar
7 ай бұрын
@@SLlPPP niice we could get some tandems on AC. Yeah I apparently having high caster helps a lot. I haven’t upgraded the car to adjust caster yet. But I’ll have a much needed mod on the car very soon. Yeah s-chassis’s are snappy. Believe it or not the stang is very snappy as well, but it has a lot of weight so you have to be prepared to catch it. The S197 and S550’s have the same or similar wheelbase to the e36 and e46 and that’s probably why they are so snappy. My buddies say an angle kit is a cheat code on the s550. What car do you drift now?
