Appreciate the shout out and kind words Raz 🤗. That FG is absolutely Gorgeous 👀. Talk about Beast. Not sure what happened with your XLX2. Think it was probably a bad unit. Should take harsh hits no problem. The locked center diff might be too much for the outdrives though. A little give with straight Silicone ear plugs will probably work better 👍. M2C Overkill outdrives use hardened tool steel pins. Probably far better than GPM. Don't sweat the rough jumps my friend. as soon as i saw the thumb nail i thought CASTLE CREMATIONS! personally i don’t think castle creations systems are for bashing. they have plenty in of power don’t get me wrong but i’d rather spend by money on a more reliable 1/5/1/6 esc like the MAX5 the prototype xlx2 esc were great but the ones castle has released to the public have been carp sense 3 years so far they have been catching fire an esc gets loads of abuse in basher cars all the throttle control in the air to correct the car and even accelerating from a dead stop (what raz did) the thing still smoked i think castle esc and motor combos are good in speed run cars and crawlers but hobbywing is more reliable in a car like the Outcast 8s EXB as far as my knowledge a old traxxas esc would last longer than a xlx2 in a bashing state of abuse that’s my opinion and your free to have your own

To be fair everything was fine, Id suggest changing to a hobbywing Max5 800kv setup with 34/39 motor and spur gear. Outdrives need to be M2C Racing or Scorchedparts. Finally when mid air the trigger needs to be fully pressed to make backflips. Center diff with silicone earplugs work a dream 😁👌.

The traxxas slash 4x4 is a great car for learning how to bash and realy durable. A lot of people don't like plastic driveshafts in smaller 1/10 scale cars, but they have some advantages, one of them is twisting under high load or shock, so there is less stress on a drivetrain. I had more issues with dog bones piping out, bending and breaking pins than plastic shafts. I am not saying plastic driveshafts are the way to go for big 1/5 scale rcs, or that are better than metal, but they do have some advantage for smaller cars

I don't know what's going on with them, but at a couple rc meets in Michigan I've went to had over 4 esc fires because of this. system, I've been in this hobby for 6 years and those esc's are something I don't mess with after my experience.

@IRONCaptainPanic

@@deontay79ify that's what I'm thinking, castle creations had made some rc killing motors and esc's over the years, and if this esc wasn't a slight bit of a time bomb, it very well could almost overthrow the hobbywing max esc's altogether, there has to be one main component on the esc's pcb board that is causing this almost outlet sounding pop when it shorts out. The soda can sized motor is very close to the primal rc raminator electric conversion kit, and if castle revises the esc and does some stress testing and locate the problem, this system might be able to be a budget electric conversion kit for the raminator, I am not saying it would 100% work for a kit, but it has potential. For me it's just sad seeing a brand that I've trusted for years of the insane power I crave, slowly, and literally, go up in flames, I'm not ditching Castle yet, I probably wouldn't ever do that, but a thing your so invested into with thousands of dollars put into it to have the most fun since you were younger, burn up and destroy your rc, is not worth the stress of looking at an overdone Thanksgiving turkey. I would be extremely upset. And I'm pretty sure everyone who's had this happen to them is hopefully going to wait until this esc's revised

Is the dual motor car still getting the carbon fiber body? That body is sick! As far as the esc fire goes, I'm not sure what would cause it. I would recommend trying the mamba monster x 8s in the next basher, it's not like you need 600 amps offroad lol

You need to run an in-line fuse from the battery to the ESC and start at like 80 A and keep bumping it til it can handle the speed you want. I used to have a classic Futaba ESC that came with a fuse.

I've always had bad luck with my typhon 3s. you can launch it 30 feet in the air and be fine, then you bump into a curb at 5mph my esc switch popped off. they arent as durable as they seem
