Loved the video. These are all things a lot of us men aren’t taught/learn too late. 1. It’s very hard to find real true friends. 2. Respect is a MUST. You need this. Always check people when necessary. 3. Be Your Own Boss - You’ll never be truly happy being told what to do. 4. Always have a savings (emergency fund) put away for a rainy day. 5. Keep a reliable lady (main chick). 6. Have and keep a masculine frame (prevents people from trying/testing you and goes hand in hand with number 2). 7. Have a lady who views you as an Alpha Male (not a beta male provider). 8. Have a skill set (not having this you are easily replaceable, when you have a high demand skill you will always have value and options as people need you). 9. Never let people owe you money. It’s not worth the hassle and headache. 10. Be a minimalist and live below your means (allows you to handle life’s curveballs when things happen). 11. Be a hustler and make money in different ways doing multiple things.

Much respect for the listing, fam! I gotta say I disagree with #10 and #11. It okay to own whatever you want just make sure you can actually afford it. And own assets that pay you instead of being a hustler. A hustler chases money. A business man has money coming to him.

Law 2. Never put too much trust in friends. Friends are more likely to betray you in haste as they are more prone to envy. However, if you hire a former enemy, they will prove themselves more trustworthy, as they have more to prove. Consequently, you have more to fear from friends than your enemies. Often, you think you know your friends better than you do. This is because honesty rarely strengthens bonds, so friends frequently hide their true feelings about each other. As people want to feel they deserved their good fortune in hiring a friend, they can feel undeserving and, ultimately, resentful. Instead, it’s better to hire an enemy, as your motives are up front and are not clouded with personal feeling. -48 Laws of Power

This is extremely uplifting for men who are lost or never had a father to give them this advice. Some have a father who are lost themslves and would never know any of this. This advice is spot on. I'm learning as a man, gain a person's respect before you gain their friendship. Im getting to the point where idc if folk like me, but they will respect me. Build a savings fund to last 6 months to a year worth of expenses. I had a period in life where I was unemployed for 2 months, dropped 1.5 racks for summer classes in college, paid for a car note, credit cards, and step dad rent and STILL didn't run out of money because I'm good at saving cash. Gaining skills makes you more valuable. Being a specialist also sets you apart. When you're a janitor, fast food worker, or a sales clerk, you're easily replaceable and you have 0 leverage at the job. Loaning money implodes relationships. If folks ask for $, I loan like 20 here, 50 there and I dont ask for it back.

I was the same way with the jobs. I quit tons of jobs from 18-23. Then i said to myself i need to do something i cant quit. So i went to the military. By the time i did my 1 enlistment in the marines i had grown up and got serious about life. I always tell people the marine corps helped me grow up. Idk where i would be without it. But i used the gi bill, went to college, got my degree, then a grad degree (all for free), jumped in corporate America and now im very, very successful, especially being i live in the south. So for me i think quitting jobs was a maturity thing. Problem is some guys reach their 40s and 50s and never mature. Also for the young guys... military experience is very impressive on a resume and im always told that when i interview for a job. Whats 4 years to set up the rest of your life?

When armed security here in the states might make 15-18 dollars an hour. Imagine doing it for 50 dollars a hour. Or more. Without any income tax. There are private security jobs all over the world and even in the US that only hire ex military. And sometimes ex law enforcement. Also bodyguard work. There are bodyguard companies that only hire ex military and ex law enforcement. Imagine making 300-500 dollars a day just to hang out with a rich politician or entertainer and keep people out their face. Easy work for a lot of money. You will see these jobs on silentprofessionals and they are all listed with the pay. But your career choice is up to you. You can go to college for anything you want and uncle sam will pay for it.

Shit is crucial and I don't want to dodge accountability in my own life so I choose not to blame him. However, all men, please be there for your sons. I learned slow and was misguided due to not having someone who cared enough about my future. I do okay for myself but this is all through self development, please don't let your sons go through the same. Especially as a black man. I've missed opportunities and lacked confidence because of procrastination, uncertainty of making the right decision, and not having someone I can look to when I went/go through hard times. Out of all this, becoming your own boss is the most important. Even if all the stars line up and you get a boss that treats you good, you never know when that could end. I had a flood, no flood insurance, because I'm in a flat area......lost my furnace, water tank, washer & dryer, I was hit! No insurance help, but, because I had savings, I bought everything, had my home appraised after, and got my money back in the long run. Bruh, I'm an older version of you, lol. Here's my advice for you. People who start things with you. Don't smile when they come around and get quiet. Lift weights and tell people your numbers. Find one guy at work and tell him about all the times you f****d somebody up, he'll spread the gossip. Once your friends start clowning you, keep it light. The real ones will come back and the fake friends will drop off...however, eventually they all drop off. If you don't have kids with this woman, leave her immediately. Eventually you will meet someone you really like and who really likes you. Divorcing her later will be so much more expensive. Stop dressing bummy, lol...however, try to dress well. I mean clean clothes, match your outfits using clothes you already have, get a little gold jewelry (no diamonds, gold holds its value and in ten years you could sell and get all your money back if you need money). People will always start with you, that's just life. But let people see that you ain't 100%, you will hurt a mother fer. I can bench 335 lb.s and been tested twice this week. Both times I just said quietly, out loud, people think I'm fucking playing with them....told one dude don't play with me, you're a grown man, you know better. Ignored what he said afterwards...but you have to warn people. Don't just hit a ninja, lol. I was picked up like 7 or 8 times in my 20s, cause I didn't say nothing, I would let things go and then beat a ninja silly. Now, I tell people, bruh I got a job, I'm not like you, go play with someone else. 99% of the time a simple verbal warning is enough. Why? Scared ninjas can't speak up. Speaking up let's them know you ain't the one. Good luck, life ain't easy but looks like you got your head on straight.

As I’m learning to be a man, I’ve learned, that no one and i mean no one have to explain anything to you. It’s really just a courtesy. So when people actually sit and explain things to you, CHERISH IT MEN.

@@jayvon1066 I am aware of all of this. Good book as well. Trouble comes from the need to be taken seriously at times, especially when you have a leadership position. I don't have issues with this generally, but sometimes, the atmosphere can go from laid back to serious real quick, and I'd like for the men around me to be able to make that mindset shift easier with me.

Great tips! What you might need to do is eliminate “negative people” from your life - like right now, if you haven’t done so already. If someone is not “adding value” to your life, meaning - bringing anything to the table, you need to cut them off! And surround yourself with people - who will help you get to where you want to be, and grow as an individual! Anyway, that’s my two cents. -Carlos Verde - Dating Tips

I Co sign AMS on the loaning money part. I loaned money to this chick i went to HS with and told her to only give me half of it back. She never payed me. 6 years later she asked me to loan her $100 to get her daughter's Christmas gifts off layaway. I simply told her no. I could have loaned her $1000 at the time, but I'm no bank. Even a bank wouldn't lend you more money after defaulting on the first loan.

I'VE TRULY INGRAINED IN MY HEAD I WANT TO BE RESPECTED THAN LIKED!!! now, i've adapted the "if you don't respect me than get the f*ck outta my face" type of mentality and my life has been WAY BETTER since. those who don't like or respect me just know to get outta my way now.
