great demo! I use one in church so I don't have a cable on the floor for the choir to trip over between my guitar at the back and the DI box on the floor in the front of the choir section. Other ideas: use two Rx units with one Tx on the same channel to broadcast into a stereo rig, or one Rx in a stage monitor amp facing backward and another Rx into a PA or forward facing amp. If you need more battery time, the Rx and Tx can be plugged into a charger if you have nearby power or a small USB battery pack for extended time. Love your demos and lessons, many thanks for sharing your knowledge and talents here!

I sometimes forget to unplug it at home when practicing, and that will run down the battery in my guitar on-board pre-amp, so don't forget to unplug it from any ACTIVE guitar pickup system when not in use! Have not had any other issues with active mags or piezo pickups.

I’ve been using the Xvive U2 for over a year now and have never had an issue with it. I’m just a home user and it works no matter where I walk to in my 1700sq foot house. The only thing I would recommend is make sure you charge it before gig because even though the battery life is really long, you wouldn’t want it to die during a show.

Damian, Great content and demo of the Xvive, would love to see more footage with the "Power Trio"!! Your guitar skills and delivery are always top notch. I to am a satisfied user of both 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz wireless pairs, same design and concept as the Xvive U2's just a different brand. I use these in Church, and haven't had any interference issues as of yet. You asked for comments on the difference between wireless vs. wired. Here is my take: Although very subtle, or at least to my ears, the wireless seemed to have a bit more high end response, which would stand to reason since you've eliminated cable capacitance between the guitar and the first buffer/amp stage, which is inside the U2's transmitter. Either way, they both sounded great, but the freedom of going wireless cannot be overstated.

I remember when Xvive came out with these years ago. My only problem with this Xvive system is its price. I used some Joyo branded stuff in the past so when I saw the Joyo on sale for $35.00 USD, I jumped on it. I believe these affordable wireless systems are all of the same Chinese parts. You can see a dozen or more on the different online market places. They all have the same description and specs as the Xvive, and are one third the price. I did a line of sight test with the Joyo and it did 70+ feet easily. I let my neighbor who plays bass in a cover band try it out and he was amazed. So I bought one for him as a gift. He gigs and practices with it, so far, without a problem. I'm 70, so I just use mine in the home. But, to think you could buy three sets for the price of one Xvive and get the same performance. Just remember to charge these up before a gig or practice. Oh, and all of these types of wireless systems are disposable. Including the Xvive. When the battery wears down and starts holding a charge for shorter and shorter times, there is no way to change the battery. Dispose of it at your local electronics shop.

The Xvive in the one case I heard it used was with a musician in a live concert/tv production. It completely changed the sound of the guitar ..now lows and now really high highs.. We had to ditch it and plug straight in to get the genuine sound. it might be better with electric to an amp, when you carve the heck out if it on an eq. Aside from the sound quality.. it connected and was plug and play.

Great playing. Cable has bit more clarity and the bass too I'd say but in a live situation don't think 99.9% of the audience would know. I sing too so spend most of the time by my microphone, little opportunity to move around, so a lead to the pedal board makes more sense BUT how do you think this would work from the pedal board to the amp? That would save a cable running across the stage. Got the same Tavo box!
@Damianblf
Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. To answer your question, You would still need a cable from the board to the amp. You can only put the receiver into the input jack of the pedal. The receiver has to start at the beginning of the pedal chain. Cheers :)

Both cable and transmitted sound good but if I have to compare, the transmitted one sounds slightly "boxy" and broadcasted, as if over a radio, and the good old cord sounds more immediate and fuller, if that makes sense. But as with all these comparisons on YT, If I'm being entertained, I won't be comparing.

Hey man I have a inexpensive wireless similar to the one here your reviewing. it's great for practice as being hinged if you touch something with it it has a bit of play so all the pressure isn't indirectly on the output plug. and not having a cable you don't pull the amp off the speaker cab or where ever. by concentrating on your practicing so much (speaking from experience) I'm forgetful of everything else when I get into it. So having wireless is a God send. great review thank You for all the hard work in the making of your videos Love your playing. But man you make it all look so easy. but that's just a challenge. 😉

Great review, Damian. I could hear a difference. The wireless system lacks a little clarity compared to the cable. I've found with the wireless systems I've used (not Xvive though), that the signal of a note diminishes quicker. I didn't hear that in this review. I use good quality cables always now.

I bought the XVIVE a few years ago. Whether gonig through my pedal board or Headrush 1000 there's no perceptible latency and the sound remains true. They're great. I'll never go back to cords. If you use WiFi, I do recommend shutting it down while using the XVIVE because it can cause interference. Kinda like the Yamaha amp that owned back in the late 70s that used to pick up Japanese radio stations. Signals are weird! Oops, he mentioned the WiFi issue. That's what I get for not looking before crossing the street.
