As an animator student, we're taught about script and the hero's journey, this trope is the part where the hero is at it's lowest and looses all hope. Thing is for some reason all Studios think the ONLY way to get it is for this lazy trope to play out. When most of the time is ridiculous, makes no sense and everyone hates it because we all know they'll come back in 5 minutes or less

At least the better ones can do it well, either by giving the characters a genuinely good reason to be mad at each other or by making it clear their stress and emotions are causing them to act irrationally. The latter is harder to pull off, though.

Good news : It wasn't Mario and Luigi in the actual movie. Bad news: Instead it was Mario and DK the ones to fight.

The best version of the third act break up scene is in the emperor's groove because pacha literally tells them the truth but kuzco dosen't believe him because that's what he'd do that's what he did a few scenes ago. It's not just a misunderstanding it's due to kuzco's trust issues which is better then alot of other movies do this (cough cough, steven univerese the movie, cough cough)

Phineas and Ferb of all things has one of my least favorite instances of this already frustrating concept, in its movie; Phineas deciding Perry constantly keeping Doofenshmirtz in check was too much even after all HE did, and then pushing him away so much that if my memory serves right, he even hesitated at the thought of saving his platypus's life when he got captured.
