Brilliant talk. I as a fellow immigrant from Korea and also having experienced a lot of childhood abuse/trauma can relate to the part of self sabotage and anger that is expressed through trading. Also, my trading improved once I stopped focusing on and trying to make money but realizing that money is a tool in life and so is trading just a tool. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing your story Shay. I have learned a lot about myself as a person while learning to trade over the last two years, so your story was very relatable. First tears of empathy for your situation, then tears of happiness for your successful journey. I am retiring this year and gearing up to trade as a side gig with a (very) small account and you are my number one inspiration because you explain things so well and you are honest. Keep up the great work!! Hugs from Eastern Ontario

Thank you for sharing your story, Shay. It's fascinating to see the common themes that ALL traders share when it comes to the psychology and emotional control. It really helps to know you're not the only one dealing with it. Funny that you said you used to smash your $5 mouse, I am missing two doors in my house. One of the hardest things to deal with is the frustration with yourself, when you keep making the same mistakes over and over. You have to let that frustration out on something, preferably something inanimate 😉 Non-traders really can't understand that the complexities of trading go far beyond just some colored bars on a chart. Here's to our future growth and progress!

I'm so grateful to have found your channel and a glimpse inside the struggles you've overcome. I am new to trading (1month) and should have done more homework first, but have been studying like there is no tomorrow since. You are inspiring and have given me hope at 52 years old to know there is a possibility of retiring as a thriving individual, instead of hoping to have enough to survive just to exist. I have hundreds of questions still, but will continue to develop the best habits for success through learning the answers before reacting. You have a strong presence on your KZitem channel and to see you are real and vulnerable in this video has build my confidence to dig deep into challenges to master this platform of trading. Thank you, sincerely!

Sorry that this happened to you, Eric. I ran into this type of issues after I moved from Amsterdam to England. I was in my 40s when I relocated and I know how badly that otherization impacted me. It has to be so much worse if it happens to you when you're still very young. (I've previously lived in the US. I clicked much better with the US than I had anticipated. Good take... I have been daytrading the last 4 years. I was working before so it was really going well for me and I was consistently profitable. Since May, I quit my job to become fulltime day trader and oooooooh boy, the switch was and is still hard!!! I do reckon that this a highly challenging and demanding line of work. And it makes you feel lonely and desperate some time. I used to have 2 friends of mine who were trading the same instruments and both stopped after losing all. I am still struggling with trading nowadays but i keep faith to get back to cruising mode like I used to before...

Your move at a young age is something that military brats are familiar with. My father was in the US Navy. I went to 3 high schools, 4 junior high schools and three elementary schools. It was very difficult moving around so much, but I eventually figured out what my problems were and overcame my issues growing up. Reading Legacies of Childhood Behind the Fortress and other books were a big help.
