I bought a 69 mustang coupe yesterday for $5800. Running, clean title, brand new upholstery and dash and carpet, decent paint. So now binge on mustang videos

She got a great deal. I used to have a '69 Mach I with a 351 Windsor, and an automatic transmission but mine didn't look anything like this one. 69-70 Mustangs were the best-looking Mustangs that Ford made in my opinion.

Back in the Good Old Days I bought a brand new 69 Candy Apple Red 351 4bbl 3.50 traction lock rear, 3 speed stick, high back seats, fold down rear seat, console. fast back Mustang for $2,800. Back then they all took a licking( Chevelle 396, Road Runner 383, Chargers, GTO. Vette 327 etc,) for 100,000+ miles with no major component failures. Weight around 2,900 pounds. Cost about $1.00 per pound of vehicle weight. Added Adco rear sway bar and radial tires, 235x 15 rear, 215 x 14 front. Today the state sales taxes on new vehicles are more than we paid in the 1960's for muscle cars.

Engine and wheel wells custom painted. Couldn’t afford to store it and keep it as I was in school and college payments!

WOW you are right ! Next time you show us something like this please include the door tag, which on a 69 will tell us if it was born just a sportsroof or Mach 1. This car was trimmed like a Mach but did not say Mach 1 over the clove box. Just Mustang? Starting 1970 Mach1s got an 05 in the Vin to let us know its a Mach1 . Beautiful Car, Lots of nice custom touches. And its a stick car ! What a steel of a deal !

Not 80 but it appears to be a decent car . Without seeing it up close its tough to tell if its a pig in a poke or not. All you young bucks beware of "Deals" like this . Ive seen a ton of Mustangs over the years that were nice and shiny just like this one but were just slapped together flippers. People are over paying for these cars and most have no idea what they are looking at so thats why they exist. Really need to see the floors and torque boxes in this thing and inside the trunk to see how good of a deal she got. Its very possibly the car needs 30K worth of work to be a solid car believe it or not.... One tell tale sign of issues is that rear valance not fitting up right.... Alot of times that means the quarter is full of filler right there where it attaches . You have to really really go over these things before you buy them and often times you are way ahead of the game buying a basket case because it can literally need the same work.
