I personally much prefer the 70s stuff before it got into the more upbeat fusion 80s sounds and synths which can be very cheesy, but there's still a lot I like in the early 80s.

It's so bright and spanky it almost sounds like a synth. I'm guessing a Music Man StingRay? Although there were a lot of active basses in the '80s that sounded like this. I googled it and the bassist is named Akira Okazawa. Looks like he has had a nice long career in a lot of different groups.

@@rome8180 by date, the only way it could be a synth is if it was a TX-81Z (which even today is often used for bass sounds, particularly slap bass)

The King of Fighters and Mario Kart 8. Mario Kart 8 have the best Jazz fusion musicians ever, they were the ones that recorded the Albums from Ayrton Senna and other famous F1 Themes.

Not sure the last time I clicked on a video so fast! Flying Beagle was the first Japanese Jazz Fusion album I found, and I love it so much! I’d also recommend Sea is a Lady and After 5 Clash by Toshiki Kadomatsu. I had to buy the CDs from Japan to actually listen to them outside of KZitem.

I’m gonna ask it every time there’s a jazz fusion vid, please do some T-Square! Also, much love to Casiopea! Those two bands go in tandem basically! In fact, there’s a live album/video called T Square vs Casiopea that is straight 🔥. Their rendition of “Fightman” is the epitome of friends having fun playing music. Their rendition of Omens of Love and Nab that Chap, while not being the most harmonically rich per se, is all of the “feel goods”.
