The Polaris Big Boss 6x6 are brilliant machines. In the UK I have a year 2000 - 500cc petrol and an older 400cc Diesel - D-Bat ex British military. The Diesel has a 12v car battery in it so never any problem starting it and its air cooled. Both used for all the jobs you can think of on our small holding. The 500cc petrol is mega quick so you have to be super careful not to let your kids loose on it. Over the years I have purchased all the agri tools you might need to work off the two machines. My friends thought I was nuts when I first got the 500cc. Only saw it as a toy. They don't think that way now and like you, mine were non-runners when I bought them super cheap. Both were easy fixes.

For the style of battery you hate, use a small piece of fuel line or a doubled over piece of cable tie under the lead insert. Makes bolting leads on much easier and the inserts stay in place.

Another successful and great purchase and like always I still really enjoy your content. Still shocks me at times the knowledge you have fixing things like the needle in carburetor where the plate was installed wrong, little details like that are the things most of us DIY ppl don't even notice so greatly appreciate all the content you've shared over the years simply due to learning more and more and obviously because I love seeing these kinda machines be brought back to life again so thank you much my man!!👊

Really cool machine! I remember the Magnum and Sportsman 6x6 that came later, but never realized they has a 2 stroke version too. It's a shame the ATV market in general has shrunk so much compared to what it used to be. Everything is the side by sides now, which are kinda neat too but cost as much as a small pickup used to.

Well it's been 40 years but finally I have an explanation to a problem I had. I had the same problem with a plate and needle on an XS750. I saw the hole so I thought the needle went through it but as you've shown the plate sits on top to hold the needle down. Bike ran like crap unless the throttle was wide open. One shop spent 3 hours trying to diagnose it but another fixed it in an hour. You're a legend!!!

Great video, as always a learning moment. Vinny would say "Looks rough rough." As you cruised the field picking up rocks, reminded of fieldstone foundations in old farmhouses. IMHO someone needs to get a Japanese mini-truck

Those big boss's or sxs with no doors work better for picking rock IMHO because you aren't constantly opening and closing a door to pick the rock. Same goes for fixing fence where you are always getting out to pound a staple, putting a clip on a steel post, or tightening a wire. Japanese mini truck would be cool for a video though.

When we were kids on a farm my dad alway said “let’s go see a rock band at the farm”!! Once we got to the hey field with our big red Honda 3-wheelers we would fill up the rear rack and the front rack had a width 18x18lenth 18”tall wooden box . The once we set the rocks on the rear rack usually rolled off but we were young and liked riding so we kept reloading the ones that rolled off!! Haha

I like your idea of putting those rocks to good use. I collected rocks about the same size as yours and came across one that I could barely pick up. I couldn't lift it high enough to put in the bed of my F350. It had to be over 200 pounds because I can lift and press a little over 200 pounds in reps of 11. The rock was off white with a little yellow. It was rounded and smooth as if it had spent time in a river. I went back with a friend to help and it had been removed by someone else. I really want to know what it was made of, but I probably will never find out for sure. Made a large bbq out of the rocks I did collect. It sits where anyone who rides off-road can use.
