We had the privilege of staying with a Cambodian local and his family for a week while exploring the country and learning more about Cambodian culture. It changed our lives. Monyharch is a 30 year old family man and former chef who established a homestay for those who want to experience the traditional Cambodian lifestyle. His home is in the village of Puok, just outside of Siem Reap. He is very passionate about his culture and serving his guests to the absolute best of his ability. He will cook you breakfast each day and other meals if you would like. His food is delicious and we found ourselves eagerly awaiting each lovingly prepared meal. In Monyharch's own words, "My Air BnB is set up to support my family so I will always go above and beyond to make you feel safe, comfortable, and leave with a memorable and real locals experience. My family and I hope to meet you and welcome you into our home!” Providing a homestay and giving tours is the only way Monyharch is able to support himself, his wife, two young sons, mother, and other family members as well as his community. He is an honest and hardworking man, and by staying at his homestay you will have the opportunity to not only make a huge difference in his life and the lives of those around him, but also to fully and authentically fall in love with the Cambodian culture and people. This experience truly humbled us and changed our lives. I hope you’ll take the chance to see how it will change yours.
