Almost: The tape measures move, so that the measured length is inside the hook, if the hook is used, and outside the hook if the tape is used to the end. That is, if you use the hook to hold one end, then the measurement will not include the hook. If you push the tape out to press against a wall, then the hook retracts, and the measurement is to the outside of the hook. (Shamefully copy from another site)

Secondly, cleaning all the green growth will help you not to get ill. Carry on the same way, doing everything that can be done in a sensible way. I think a sensible thing to do is to spray the inside with a solution of Dettol. Kill all the remaining germs.

I think 2 episodes of cleaning insides of 2 hulls may be enough. At some point in time you will need to pull/motor off of the mud to see if this boat floats. I'd consider some type of floatation strapped inside bottom of the hulls, like an inflatable bed, to insure that hulls don't sink when pulled off mud, and you might be able to use for sleeping afterwards. Best to get this on the hard sooner rather than later, waiting until April has you doing minor projects and seems somewhat unproductive.
@SailProMarina

If you want to get that grey hose under control you can do what the plumbers do for emergency breaks. 1 - get the right size in-line hose valve with jubilee clips. 2 - get a good hose cutter. 3 - open the inline valve so you can see through it. 4 - slide the jubilee clip down the length of the hose to where you want the valve to be. 5 - steady yourself and cut the hose. 6 - put the valve into the hose and fasten it with the jubilee clip. 7 - close the valve and check for leaks. If you’re worried get multiple valves and clips so you know you have the right one for sure. It sounds insane but it works. You just can’t dawdle doing it. XD

I'm remembering my old house renovation. All the framing under the windows to the inside section of the foundation beam were trashed, which I didn't know until I took off the clapboard siding. It was meant to be the work of a long weekend to remove the siding and install insulation batts, clean off the old paint and stick the siding back on and paint. Back to the hardware store for a big roll of plastic sheeting and a cry alone in my truck.
@SMM-Mystery

Mark, there is a fast and fairly easy way to start to address the water in the areas around the windows. At least to get them dried out. You can buy electric In floor heating coil, secure it to the inside of the hull on opposite side of the areas outside that have water intrusion. Then place a rubber backing insulation over the coil. This will create in the area where the water is at and dry out the core. (I assume there is core to that boat). Sometimes you can save the core through this process and may be able to avoid removing the skin or cutting out the areas all together. I have a friend who has a Wharram Pahi 63, that had some water intrusion in about the same area and he was able to use this method to dry the core, drill the area with holes about every 6 / 7 MM apart and epoxy fill them. It worked out perfectly. Though I do not think his boat sat as long or was as exposed to water as yours. BTW, he is selling his Wharram 63 for $42K US / (40K Euro) -You can see it on Yacht World.

Mark I'm glad you are not going to use tape to stick your windows on. We replaced our polycarbonate yacht windows without screws because with the movement of the substrate when you're sailing eventually causes leaks round the screws. The product to use is Sikaflex 295 UV and Sikaflex 209D Primer. Get the data sheets online for these. Of course, your substrate has to be firm, dry, painted and keyed up for the Sika. We did ours 5 years ago and no leaks yet. Remember, these windows have to be watertight from wave impacts at sea so don't skimp on the fixings.

You need a permeant marker to mark the rotten spots for later repair, looks bad, but as you repair each bit and repaint/epoxy, the boat will look progressively better. This boat looks like the perfect one to convert into a wave powered cat. If you mount the two hills on hinged frame with hydraulic rams, as each hill rises and falls it will pump fluid from one hydraulic to the other. And the movement of the fluid will spin a generator in between. And the structure you build on the brand will be more stable as the hydraulic listings will dampen the rocking. You just need a flexible membrane between the main house and the hulls as they will move independent of the main house. But you should b e able to run mostly electric drive. And mount some wind turbines and solar for extra grunt.

You are doing a great job of the cleaning, Mark. You are right to prioritise that. I am amazed at how well most of the paint has come up. The end of the measuring tape is made loose on purpose. That allows you to get an accurate measurement on an internal corner (with it pushed in) or when hanging it over a piece of wood (where it will pull out). As the meerkats would say, "Simples". Shame about the wood around the windows. Making sure you stop more water coming in must help. If the ingress is stopped it will allow things to dry a bit. That must make the repair easier when you are able to do it. I would suggest getting the engines live would be worthwhile, making a trip to the boatyard easier (you could go on one if necessary). Also the rudders. As you say, a deck would help enable work while still in the water.

(Top Tip on Wharram boats: 😁) Having built and sailed a Tiki 21 in the 80's, I was ever so glad to have the method of _always_ drilling oversized holes, filling them solid with thickened epoxy (preferably with some chopped glass), and only then drill the hole I needed.🤷♂ - What you can do to minimize work and cost, is remove the glas (when present) on the inside, then remove the rot carefully. (When possible using a router) After this you can fit and epoxy-glue another piece of marine grade plywood (If it is a smaller, reasonable contained area). This way the structural glassing on the outside can stay intact.😉 - @25:12 Bear in mind that any local stiffening like bulkheads will change the sound also, and can thus be deceiving...😉

Hello Mark. Maybe you could stick your polycarbonate on temporarily. Use some modified silane polymer which can go on if it's wet. If you use a thin bead and hold it in place with tape you will get the waterproofing you need and can re-use the polycarbonate later by slicing the joint.....can get MS polymer in clear or a colour for the final fix, I use Geocel but there are lots out there.....
