It'd be great to tag the maker, Simone Giertz in this.

They cost $20 per hanger. That’s absurd!
@The0ldBat

@@BumbleyBoo I just saw that. I think it's the kickstarter price, but yeah... And you can buy a 12 pack for $75. That's $6,25 each. Still, I've never spent money on a hanger in my life! :D

Several pegs attached to a board to the back of the closet work great with swiveling hooks. Plan a is installing the rod further back and using the swiveling hook.

Simone Giertz is a straight up genius of invention and innovation. The fact that she had a brain tumor and it didn’t stop her is to be commended. Just an amazing maker.

These were already a thing. In my grandmothers house we found wooden ones with hinges in a narrow depth wardrobe! I doubt my grandmother made them herself so she must have bought them somwhere!

I made some 20 years ago when I was at Uni out of a roll of wire and some pipe cleaners. Not as refined as a commercial product but did the job for 3 years!

Yeah exactly. Like his point still stands, but he's literally using a very talented engineer as an example of how you don't need to be a very talented engineer to make a product... I wonder whether he just assumed she wasn't an engineer because it's a simple product and because she's a woman (I don't think he himself is sexist, but we do all have unconscious biases, and the vast majority of engineers are men).

I think everyone is missing the point of hangers they are to stop your clothes getting creases in them if your not bothered about creases dont buy these just fold your clothes up and put them in drawers or other storage containers you can get them in lots of shapes sizes and designs and will hold more clothes or chuck your clothes on the floor
@mrsm9974

I think the majority of people who don’t live in a big house, and don’t have space to add a solid chest of drawers, would prefer the extra space. 1 ‘potential’ crease in your clothes vs having space to able to walk around to your side of the bed instead of trampling over your partner and waking them up. Yes please!

Damn. I actually made these from metal wire and pipe cleaners in 2004 when I was in University and didn't have a lot of space in my room I never thought of it being a business!

Great idea, unique as you say but there is nothing to stop others from copying the idea and undercutting any potential sales. Particularly if you put your prototype idea out on your socials before you have a Patent in all major territories.
