It's honestly surreal seeing the Rock with hair in a movie, since we're so used to him being bald. I'd honestly be shocked if this movie actually gives Dwayne Johnson material to work with as an actor, since in almost every movie he's in he just plays himself so it would be really refreshing to see what other kind of roles he can play

Yeah, I agree with you. It's truly so weird seeing Dwayne Johnson not bald in a film, I'm so used to seeing him with no hair. I would be very surprised if this movie has the Rock acting as someone else, because in most films he's in, he simply just acts as himself so I would find it a welcome change to see what other character he can play.

In my humble opinion, all the hate The Rock has been receiving was weird asf... Yeah, the guy is not an S-tier actor, but this is not a crime, he is entertaining and funny, let the man do what he sees fit... If the movie/acting was bad, it's fair game to talk some shit, but people lately be acting like he just shot their childhood puppy

No one is acting like he shot our childhoods puppy lmao. But maybe i havent really seen any intense hate. But in any case, stating that he cant really play anyone else but himself dressing up as other people is not hate, it’s a fact.
@WillWilliams-vo4nk
4 ай бұрын
@@Disquiet925It is definitely hate when you supposedly don't watch the guy. Yet cry and complain about him every day. He's not committing war crimes, he's a rich guy trying to make more movies to get more rich. Either you like the movies or you don't. But people complain about his acting like their forced to watch his movies. People love Keanu and John Wick....and he's arguably worse than any character the rock has ever played. As far as dull acting..love the movies but Keanus acting is absolutely horrible in those movies. Yet, bc it's not popular to hate on him we don't hear any complaints about his acting....which just proves y'all are haters and not just criticizing bad acting.

I have no respect for Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, or Vin Diesel. All three of them have clauses in their contracts that they cannot be made to look like wimps on screen. He wants to make big movies, he needs to open himself up to roles that actually have meaning to them. Most any buffed-out fool can play the roles he's chosen to play in his career. He needs to play a character that can actually have some growth and development. Not just a do-gooder thug tossing his opponents around like rag dolls... or a do-badder thug tossing his opponents around like rag dolls.
@sideeyed7682

But you heard him, he doesn’t want to make “Small movies” whatever the hell that means. He wants to make mega blockbusters where he’s potrayed as a nothing but a Gary Stue because it’s not like that hasn’t been done to death. The man is the biggest movie star today, has the potential to influence and change the entire culture of the industry through his way of work, but chooses the safe route by doing the same redundant thing that has been doing nothing but crippling this Industry. People can say what they want about Smith, Dicaprio, Cruise, Make fun of their religion, relationships or outside life, but one thing they can’t take away from those guys were their range and effort when it came to entertainment.

No, hold on... Light, actionpacked movies like Jumanji does have impact and it needs someone to play it. Movies dont need to be that deep. It's a kids movie. Millions of kids will see this with their parents or friends. The existence of something itself carries inherent impact, and he's right... the bigger it is, the more impact.

The biggest reason the Rock is disliked is because he doesn't allow himself to look weak or vulnerable. It's literally stipulated in his CONTRACT that he cannot play a character who loses. Like, what?!? You HAVE to let yourself have moments of weakness and vulnerability in order to be liked. No one likes a perfect guy who never fails and never has to try to succeed. That's inhuman. So hopefully he's learned his lesson with this movie and will play the role like a real person and not be such an insecure celebrity worrying about his image.
