I recently watched a Netflix special on Cats, and apparently even domestic cats don’t meow at each other when living in say, feral groups. Meows are special adaptation, in domestic cats, to communicate with their owners. They all have their own set of meows for their Hooman, and they’re all different, so technically we all speak our own unique language with our kittehs.

These cats are incredible. I've spoken to a few soldiers who were deployed to the middle east that are from my local area (joint base Lewis McChord), and they all have stated that these little cats, are the scroungers from hell. One of them (a personal friend) stated he would put out water for the local cat where his unit was, and that eventually, the cat would come up to the water, sip a cpl tongue loads, and then lay down a few feet from where he sat. The cat never came close enough to pet, but showed zero fear of him. He'd toss it a very small piece of jerky now and then, and the cat would ignore it. But the water. Not so much, even though it would only take a small sip or two.

Learning With Qua: My hat is off to you for going 3 times! I am glad you returned home and hope you were well each time. Thank you for your sacrifice! Too bad you didn't get to see the sand kitty, but at least this program showed it to many of us who weren't aware of it. Blessings to you! P.S. If you really want a kitty, please consider liberating one from the shelters. There are such lovely ones there, who'd embrace you and be your loyal companion for life! (In fact, my cat "Phoenix", did just that, he put his paws around my neck and kissed me on the nose, first time I held him. Of course, he came home with me and we had 12 wonderful years together!

I live in the mountains. When very young my family & I always seen bobcats in the woods. A bobcat was killing our chickens, so my father had to shoot it...it turned out to be a mother bobcat & we only ever found 1 small baby female bobcat. We named her Bobbie & even had the local Vet doctor to vaccinate her. Bobbie had wilder tendencies than regular cats, but we all played with her trying to tame her as much as possible while she was growing. We made Bobbie a home & she lived inside an old metal oil drum turned over at the edge of the back yard next to the woods. She was so pretty & we adored her. As she got much older her instincts became stronger than our work at keeping her tame...she started hunting & killing our chickens. We couldn't bring ourselves to kill her. We waited until she was sleeping inside her oil drum, put the lid on, then drove her about 2 hours or so & put her out at an old, abandoned trash dump. We took a 50-pound sack of dry dog food & opened it outside the drum then took the lid off. She walked outside & snarled & looked around & looked at us & smelled of the food. Bobbie the Bobcat just finally sat down & was sniffing the air & just looking around. We knew she could find rats, mice, crows, & other creatures at the old dump. We hated to give her up, but she was a wild animal...she never once tried to hurt us though...she sensed we were family at that point in her life. I imagine that these wonderful sand cats would also be a challenge to raise as pets...their instincts are deep & wild just like bobcats.
