I got invited to a MLM mass interview before that was what people were calling it. It was held at a hotel in one of their large meeting rooms and this guy comes out shouting "WHO LOVES MONEY?!" I knew right away it was a waste of my time and started reading a newspaper. Some people came up to me and said I had to put the paper down, and I declined. They went and got the hotel security who told them nothing could be done because I was invited and was being peaceful. Eventually one of the staff asked me if I needed any assistance and I told them to go get me a Pepsi. I hung out for a little while just for my own amusement and left while the speaker was delivering his big hook.

Their whole schtick is that they send products to companies then send a bill for the unsolicited products hoping they will get paid, they tried this at a place I used to work, randomly sent us a 55gal drum of degreaser that was worth maybe a few hundred bucks and then an invoice for like $3500, I've worked places where this scam would have worked luckily this company was small enough that we caught it, but the probably only need a few places to rubber-stamp those invoices to turn a profit

That's not necessarily true. You're under no obligation to return the item, but you don't technically have the absolute right to keep it. It becomes a civil matter. If they can prove to a court of law that their intention was not to 'gift' you the item, you may be liable to reimburse them for the price of the item, particularly if they informed you of the mix-up BEFORE you threw it out or used it up. Of course, you would only have to provide reasonable opportunity for them to retrieve the item (again, as determined by a court of law), and you would be of no obligation to return the item at your own expense or inconvenience. But these fraudulent companies aren't likely to sue you over it, so just enjoy your free junk.

Good luck by the way... it's REALLY hard to prove innocence.. because if you're innocent, you have no evidence....... because you're innocent...... if you're guilty, it's easier to prove, you can present evidence of guilt. And if you do see some stuff that I've posted before it's presented better and within the structure of an overall story/comedy set because after all one of the main reasons I even post videos online is so people come to my shows. I started posting online vids when live comedy shut down during covid. I also take time to answer questions from audience members about the stuff I do and generally just have fun with the people who enjoy my stuff, I greet people when they come in and and I take pictures with people after. It's always a fun experience. But sounds like you want your money back, scammer 😂

"YOU GUYS CAN HEAR OUR LITTLE SHPIEL AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELVES" That is the scammiest thing I've ever heard.

The sheer panic on that lying scammers face was brilliant.

When someone says "you can decide for yourself" after being called out, it's almost always because they were definitely in the wrong.

When I was in college more than 35 years ago, I went to a job interview for a summer job that ended up being a group interview that was more like a motivational speech. I caught on immediately that this was some sort of trick to get people caught up in either an MLM or something similarly scammy. I got up to leave and wasn’t allowed to leave the room. Several large guys blocked the exit, telling me to sit down and wait until the meeting was over. I raised hell, yelling to everyone in the room that the "company" was either trying to trap them into a pyramid scheme or they were a cult. I told everyone in the room that I wasn’t being allowed to leave. The leader/speaker told the guys at the door to let me leave, at which point I yelled to everyone else that they should leave, too, because they might not get lucky enough to have the cult leader give permission for them to leave. At least a third of the 50-60 people in the room got up and left right behind me. I didn’t hang around to see if more came out of the room. I went back to my dorm and called the police to report what had happened. They didn’t take me seriously, despite me being very clear that I wasn’t being allowed to leave when I wanted to leave. I’m sure the police didn’t investigate. It was a terrifying experience, though. I’ve rarely been so panicked as I was when I wasn’t being allowed to exit a room.

Dude has a fake smile and told them to still to their “spiel” Bruh. Spiel: a long or fast speech or story, typically one intended as a means of persuasion or as an excuse but regarded with skepticism or contempt by those who hear it.
