The EX3210R 32" Curved Gaming Monitor from BenQ has a very familiar look from the front. the typical, gamer aesthetic with a V shaped base. And I know it might not be for everyone, but I like the orange accents on it, way to be bold BenQ. There’s lighting on the back of the screen in kind of an X shape with 9 different colors and 6 different lighting effects, all controlled by the monitor’s OSD.
I really like the stand. Its well built and its functional. It has all the adjustments you need, so Height Pan and Tilt. You also have the option to mount it to a monitor arm since its vesa 100 by 100 compatible. So, Good design overall.
Then, let’s talk about the hardware. First, It has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports and 1 DisplayPort. Keep in mind that Full color 165Hz seems to be limited to the DisplayPort though. I mean, HDMI can do it, but you would need to lower other settings. It also has a USB Hub, with 2 ins and one out , and a headphone jack passthrough.
Now let’s move on to the actual screen, it’s a 31.5 inch display with a resolution of 2560 by 1440. This really is the maximum size I would recommend for 1440p. Past that and things look a little less crispy.
The VA panel in this thing has a MPRT or Moving Picture Response Time, of 1ms, and it has a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Now this means nothing if the grey to grey response is bad, or if there's artifacting, and During my testing I was pleasantly surprised. I saw Zero Corona artifacts in the UFO test, and the ghosting that you sometimes see on high contrast scenes with VA panels, Yeah, I saw none of that. The monitor also has Blur reduction which works very well, and it has an Advanced motion Accelerator option that cranks up the voltage to the LCD which improves the grey to grey response and the overall crispness of the image by a lot. Just watch out because you might get some color fringing on the highest setting. I noticed it in the blurbuster test, but not at all in gaming, which is more important.
So, well done.
