3 weeks ago, my Chocolate Labrador, Evy, tried to kiss me and instead head butted my chin, as I was bending down to kiss the top of her head. It was painful & I heard a crack in my jaw. Since then my jaw has been far more relaxed and less crooked. For those that don't have a head butting Chocolate Labrador, this seems like an excellent alternative.

Once again a very interesting video. Is this what is also achieved with the myobrace? I was subscribed the myobrace by my therapist (logopedist) to assist me with mewing, for correct tongue posture, mouthbreathing and clenching. You have to wear it all thru the night and also a bit during the day. It’s awful 😫but also cheaper. How long did you use the oralift before you noticed a difference? Both in pain and aesthetics?

Imagine spending $400 on a device only to ruin it when you throw it into hot water or fail to properly mold it. I have ruined cheap mouthguards like this, so not taking a chance on this expensive piece of plastic.
@deidreprozinski2759
7 ай бұрын
Imagine not knowing the moulding is only to help you keep it in place. It’s not structural and you don’t have to mould it “properly” to get the benefits. The inventor, Dr. Nick, has been on other podcasts discussing this issue as people tend to get hung up on the “correct moulding” issue and he said it’s not necessary to mould it to experience the structural benefits (holding the teeth apart) but that it just makes it easier to keep it in place if you do. You could try it even with the “faulty” molding and as long as it is comfortable enough to wear.. you can still get benefits.

Unfortunately, my Oralift cracked a molar which couldn't be saved. My dentist said this device cannot treat any jaw disorders and those who have TMJ or teeth grinding can have serious risks, especially for older teeth. Yes, older teeth age too. To replace my molar, I will spend almost 5 thousand dollars because I need an implant. PLEASE ask your dentist about this device before using it. I wish I would have.

That’s scary! I have a few old root canals that would be at risk, bc once you remove the nerve from the tooth, you later lose the blood supply and the tooth becomes brittle! I had my initial root canal from 40 years ago literally break off at the gum line last year! It took one year and $25,000 to get an implant!!! Of course, I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we have the highest medical/dental costs pretty much in the world!

Hi Claire, I knew your face had been looking tighter for the last few months... I think the idea of this device is so interesting. I considered trying but I already have a number of devices I don't seem to be using. (waste of $) So, for the last six weeks or so, I've been practicing mewing, which I'm now able to do for longer periods of time without thinking about it. I can see a small difference in my neck which was starting to appear a bit saggy. Initially it was difficult since the idea is to keep one's tongue at the top of the mouth (with suction!) which is definitely not my normal oral posture. Anyway, you are looking great. I am inspired to continue my mewing.

I'm glad you found something that worked! I've had jaw surgery myself (underbite) and I must say it's worth it because of the many benefits, when your jaw is in the right position not only the TMJ and teeth clenching is gone, but you'll get this super balanced beautiful proportion in your lower face. Also chewing is alot more comfortable. It's worth looking into for the long run, I think they can even plan it out with invisalign instead of brackets.
@kcam3683

Having gone through severe pain with TMJ dysfunction, a dentist suggested a plan to realign my bite and quoted me £6,000! Since heard this is a regular thing for him and it’s completely unnecessary 😡 Visited a Maxillofacial surgeon, X-Rays showed the left joint had completely disintegrated. He advised I could have surgery but after a few years the joint remodels itself anyway. Booked in for surgery, it was cancelled at last minute when operating schedules changed so then did nothing. I’m glad I did nothing. Perhaps wearing Invisalign helped, realigning and created the gap in the jaw. I’m very sceptical of all the claims read out about the device. Botox in the masseters helps too of course.
