Rose cuts are a very old and beautiful cut! If you look at rings from before the mid-late 20th century you're going to see pretty much exclusively old mine, old European, and rose cut diamonds. Such a classic and timeless cut, so different from the modern brilliant cut beauty standard.

It would be a good idea probably if they bezel set it that would save the thin edges from damage if it gets banged against something or do a partial bezel setting and that way light can still reach the stone under it.
@BeansAndPotatos

@@crossbowskissthat’s not entirely true. The distinctness of a diamonds cleavage is what determines whether or not it’s going to chip, fracture etc. This is for ALL diamonds. Inclusions just make it easier, but a flawless diamond can break just as easily… even against something as simple as a doorknob. This is a genuine problem happening worldwide that affects customers on the daily. This applies for Lab diamonds just as much as natural ones. You want to know something that no diamond manufacturer is going to tell you? Moissanite is overall more durable than Diamonds. Your Moissanite is 10x more likely to last a lifetime. Moissanite’s don’t have a distinct cleavage whatsoever. The chances of a moissanite fracturing is rare, even when hit at the right angles. Moissanite are a 9.5 on MOHS scale (second hardest gemstone in the world), and anything above 9.25 is entirely resistant to being scratched by your environment. Therefore, although a diamond is a 10 on the MOHS scale, they perform the exact same in that regard. Overall, just like a diamond, your moissanite WILL NEVER become scratched. Even better, Moissanite’s indistinct cleavage makes it much harder to fracture, yet on the other hand diamonds are INCREDIBLY susceptible to fracturing. Therefore, Moissanite is 100% more durable than Diamonds. Oh, and a fun fact- Moissanite has the highest refractive index of any gemstone on the planet. It shines brighter than the rainbow itself. It also has a unique double refractive property.

It would be a lot more interesting if the table had a slight convex curvature and the pavilion, instead of being faceted, also had a slight convex curvature then keep the other facets so it still keeps some sparkle of a diamond. Then... when you put a smaller faceted stone underneath it it's magnified and looks bigger than it actually is. That my friends would be awesome!
