Well done, Michael! That workshop will pay for itself very soon with all the things that need doing around the chateau and the convent. A well made door that's properly cared for can last hundreds of years. And you made it yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to, Michael. You have a family that loves you to bits. That's all you really need. Sending you and Florian big hugs! 💝💝💝

Michael, I’m so happy to see you doing this woodworking. My dad always did moldings, picture frames, furniture, and anything my mom thought she might like to have in that corner, or a cabinet in the kitchen, etc. It was his hobby after work in the winter months mostly because his other hobby was being a master gardener. He also loved to sail so we would often go sailing. He was a man who never sat still until the day he died at 95. I remember since I was a kid watching him and helping him in his workshop. The machines and tools he acquired through the years was every woodworkers dream. If we didn’t live in the States and you in France, I would give you some of his machinery. We are left with an entire huge workshop building he had built when he was in his 80’s when he decided he needed more space! My sister and I have left it the way it was, but know we have to donate everything. My grown kids have asked for some tools, etc. but there is more than any of them can take. You can begin making your own picture frames when this project is completed. Enjoy. xx

Check the local paper or Craig’s list to find Jack of all trades men or handyman’s and find up a coming guys who would be so grateful for your dads tools. So many people have to have a side job to support the family and having the extra equipment would be a game changer for their quality of work. There are so many people out there that have that same passion for wood working and would make your dad happy to help the next generation get a leg up with his equipment.

I just love how your creative mind planned and created a beautiful door. Making the wood at hand useable for your project is so perfect for specific needs. My Dad love carpentry and he would take shipping containers (wooden) and skids and make furniture and other useful objects with them. I think this is one reason I got addicted to chateau videos, I love creative, fun and hard working people like yourself and others who share with all of us. I look forward to the continuation of this project.

It's so amazing that you have picked up carpentry and woodworking so easily, and to such a high standard. My husband is the same, he does everything to an amazing standard, he is multi-talented. Many many years ago he taugt me how to do thing light plumbing, roofing, tiling, brick laying, Cementing. We built our own home, I was so proud I installed the the downstairs cold water system, I helped lay roof tiles while petrified of hights. And built a soldier course of brick under our kitchen window. We tiled bathrooms and the kitchen together. I didnt however get a chance to do carpentry, which i wanted to do, as I suffered a working accident and have been disabled ever since. 23 years. I have to watch you and others enjoy themselves, and that brings me pleasure instead. You have done an remarkable job so far. Xx
