Thanks Danny for another good golf tip. I am 72 and am losing a little distance with my driver. I was always taught to have a slow backswing. However watching your a little faster rhythm swing and also using your back and forward rotation swing tip with your legs and putting a little pressure on my front toe (which kept me from moving my front foot because of playing a lot of softball), I have increased my driver swing as well as hitting 90 percent of fairways. You are my number1 golf instructor. Stay safe and healthy.

I tried this for the first time today at the golf course and Wow. Whilst it did take a bit of getting used the results justified the means. To use an analogy it was like learning to swim for the first time without a lifebelt. I was hitting the ball 25-30 yards further and more importantly straighter. Guys be brave and give this a go, you will not regret it. Danny many thanks Angela

The 45 degrees of eye tilt looking at the sky on the practice backswing and again on the forward s wing finish is BRILLIANT. This really got me to feel the proper plane and arc of the swing. Also your suggestion to speed the tempo of the backswing to create momentum which helps anchor the rear foot and fire the transition to the downswing at the right time without over thinking it.. Also your suggestion to "be brave" and just let it happen. I'm 77 years old and these are tips that really work - take them to the bank. Thanks Danny ! (PS: These tips work with the irons for me as well)

Danny you have in the space of 3 months or so transformed my understanding of golf When I first started playing I just focused on the club and ball. Then it became more about the arms and what they did to make the ball move Now after watching your videos I am understanding the key to the golf swing is really all in the body It is with what is happening with the body that is the key Just watching you each week is reinforcing these points I am learning I am currently taking lessons with my local pro and am sitting on 16 handicap which I feel is poised to plummet to single figures before we reach 2022 Thanks for your efforts

Just wanted to say thanks! Getting back in to golf and was very determined to stop being an over the top player and be more effortless due to back issues. Your last two videos got me out of my head and swinging much more freely. Had my best day at the range by far and even was told by a complete stranger how well I was hitting the ball. I always knew what I wanted to do, but couldn’t “feel” it. Your two videos have me “feeling” it and I was hitting straighter, farther and with less effort. My back has never felt better after a day at the range. I’ve found joy again in the game, so thank you very much.

G'day Danny, I have used most of the tips you have given us. I thought the tip of unscrewing the lid of a jar quite effective, coupled with extending the right leg to increase the pivot. Today I put in the idea of looking to the sky on the Backswing, I also increased the speed. I definitely noticed an increase in the distance of the tee. Furthermore, I used this tip with fairway clubs and irons, resulting in 36 Stableford points.

Well done, Danny. Swinging a twisted weighted rope will get those feels also. I use that to get into those positions, especially the platform you so correctly describe. My problem was that you can get the feel at home, with the rope but not at the course. I came up with a great way to get those feels. I use by driver with the cover one and a swing weight just below the grip. Everyone puts the weight above the hosel but adding it below the grip real changed the feel. I had the Hank Haney four inch long weight that is slotted to slide over the tip but stretched it open at the upper shaft and it secured with two Velcro straps. Slowly swinging that club at the course gives you that feel, warms up the body core. Plus when you remove the cover head and weight the club feels very light allowing up to really create that pull power.

Ahh! I've seen your training for the "catapult" finish, but was having trouble doing it. I'm like your Dad that I am used to an arm swing. Worse, I want to give power to the club by performing an arm swing with an axe to chop wood. Mostly over the top. This was a good view at changing my mind to work naturally on swinging to focus my eyes back up to look at the ceiling/sky and then setting the platform to let my eyes move back around to look up at 45 deg. This gets me moving correctly. Now I understand the "golf" swing. (Still doesn't seem natural.) Larry

Danny, Thank you! I have been struggling with my backswing and how to get the forward swing started. The simple little drill solved both problems and, like you said, I was crushing the ball at the range tonight! I was able to draw and fade the ball again!!! My problem was I was too flat in the backswing and then, like your dad, used my body to swing the club resulting in getting stuck and hitting hooks and pushes. They went away with the drill. I will now incorporate this into my pre-swing routine! Thank you!

Astonishingly good lesson on using body in the golf swing, and essential counterpart for those obsessed with micro-movements of body in the swing. However, to use this properly, must know other "details" such as straight lead wrist at top of backswing, squaring face, keeping lead arm straight etc, but they are a different topic. But, the question: why do you (and everyone else) place the head of the driver about 3 inches short of the ball at address? This suggests that the address position is not on your swing path, so (in theory) must be wrong?

Good stuff! This would definitely help anyone who has a baseball swing ie very little chest turn as compared to a golf swing where your chest turns. Thanks Danny for this great lesson.

hi, another great tip! 2 "suggestions" if i may: 1) u should introduce proper head tilt which i "assume" u would agree to be a slight turn to the right whereby your right eye is below your left eye at address; 2) should be easy to show distance improvement, regardless of lack of tracking equipment, e.g., distance off tee to where the 150 yd marker. is from green...before & after your dad takes your swing advice :)
