I understand; you have brought up really valid points, and your sentiments and what you feel right now are understandable. I don't know if you know me, but I'm Hades, and I'm part of the community team. I agree that lack of communication really is an issue, and that is really agreeable. Hey Hades, I appreciate you taking the time to reach out. As I said, you all are wonderful, and I hope this game succeeds because it's a great game and there are a lot of really great people who work at SIG. I understand the position that you and your colleagues on the community team are in, as I work in customer service myself. I am sure there are plenty of things you would love to share but can't and I'm really sorry that you have been put into that position. I'm not going to beat a dead horse here, so I would like to just say that I wish you all the best and hope you guys work through whatever is happening. I'll be ready to play and support Marauders again if that happens, but until then it's gotten to a point where I don't even feel comfortable recommending this game to anyone just starting out. I put down Marauders some time ago and to me the biggest issue was the lack of endgame. I did not really feel rewarded for extracting with the loot and spending money on gear. This and removal of one-hit headshots made weapons like SVT or Welrod nearly useless in my eyes. Tarkov at least gives you access to better ammunition that helps you in PvP. In Marauders it takes 1 kill in PvP or 1 Capital Ship raid to get me full Panzer armor and MG42 so unlocking stuff with traders feels meaningless. The most fun I've had is to just get in with the free bandolier and Luger, take down AI, dress up, go PvP, extract fully geared, then die fully geared and repeat the cycle. Space combat is also severely lacking in purpose and feel. It's mostly a 'let's have Dreadnought in our game because space' kind of thing to me. It's cool that you physically infiltrate locations using your ship, but anything else is just boring and there's little reason to shell out cash on anything else than a Rustbucket. Smh pre-release Marauders was the best time I've had with the game and it went downhill from there :|.

I totally get where you're coming from and agree with a lot of this. I think breaching and airlocks are what made this game really unique and a lot of people complaining about breachers and airlock campers are dumbing down both of those mechanics. Without them space does feel pretty lackluster, but it's tough because I don't think it was ever meant to be a focal point of the game. PVP is all I personally enjoy in the game so I totally feel you on the gameplay loop. My favorite time to play was when there were tournaments so that I could try to get in the top 100. I kind of disagree on the ships. Some of them are actually pretty broken and can net you a lot of cash and PVP kills if you have a competent crew. But, as a solo, I only buy dreadnoughts for storage.

If they ever abandon this game they need to push one last update to make it where we can play offline, maybe invite friends. Then hopefully a small team of mod makers make a SPT mod like tarkov has. Simulate players and whatnot, even make them more difficult. Idk, i just hope this game doesnt get abandoned but i feel it will; I just love the atmosphere in this game. If it had offline peopl could just mod it to how they want it and modders are always great at fixing bugs. Hell maybe even new modded maps. coming from someone with almost 5k hours , who agrees with the majority of what you said , map design is a major part of airlock camping, its an issue that needs to be adressed, if you dont spawn first and closest to the poi someone will get to it before you, the maps internally are to small which makes it to easy to very quickly get to another airlock, being airlock camped is one of the major reasons people dont play the game and adressing that is a very wise decision by the devs, we largely agree on most things you have said in the video, but airlock camping is a very notorious issue, and starting with asteroid mine to re design and restructure airlocks to see if thier new way of approaching them is going to work will be a good idea. bad map design can cause an otherwise good game to feel terrible, colony cruiser for example, is a map i hate and despise so much i refuse to go into it, its entire design gives map control to the first people to breach into it and a singular 4 man of decent people can just hold the entire middle floor and keep everyone pinned in the sewers where they airlock in. bad map design for some of the maps and the fact we cannot choose what map to play to avoid these things is one of the larger issues keeping people away, but as i stated we do agree on the majority of these issues in game. airlock camping is ONE thing new players bitch about that i feel they get right , but most of thier complaints are 100 percent because they have.5kds from simply lack of experience vs a veteran playerbase

you are 100 percent right in saying placating people who have nothing constructive to add is going to do more harm than good, i do wish the devs got better at telling bad players to get good because truly that is the issue for most new players, they just are not mechanically good at mouse and key

@@laxthebarsmith6951 Hey LAX! First, thank you for taking the time to write this and offer a thoughtful perspective. I think your points are fair and you absolutely have me beat in the hours played category haha Just to elaborate on why I said what I said about airlocks: I understand most of what I said is anecdotal. I think airlock camping could have been addressed in a much simpler/expedient fashion if they were going to go that route. I love the Spaceport and Navy changes they made, personally and think those maps are much better now for those changes. So, maybe these new changes will bring some new life back into those maps that they are updating. I'll happily eat my words if that's the case. My main point is that: 1. I've never really had an issue with getting airlock camped if I'm not dawdling out in space for awhile. 2. I believe that ingressing and egressing from the POI should feel dangerous. I want my heart to race a bit when the airlock door is lifting. Maybe I'm in the minority on that one, but man no other game really has anything like that and it's something that really drew me into Marauders. 3. I think if you're good enough at the game, you will win whether you're the camper or the campee (Depending on the specific airlock. I do agree some have a more extreme disadvantage than others). I've watched your stream, for example, and have seen you win a fight from your airlock. I've won and lost from mine. I've won and lost as the camper. At the end of the day, I agree it could dissuade people from playing. But I think it's an excuse, like any other for people who would rather dismiss any possibility of their own improvement. If it's not that, the majority of people complaining about stuff like this will find some other excuse. That's just human nature. Again, I really appreciate the constructive feedback and for you taking the time to share your perspective. Especially since there aren't many people with the number of hours you have so I think there's serious value in it. Cheers!

@@CrankLopez forsure man, its 100 percent possible to win from the airlock, me and tensyti win MOST of our fights from the airlock, but he is the best player in the history of the game and i am one of the best, between us is almost 9k hours total, this game wants to be more casual, and the airlock is arguably one of the most hardcore points in an extraction shooter when your pinned in it with nowhere to run and no way to retreat, its the most pinned and vulnerable you can possibly be in the game, and that turns away alot of people when its a constant thing for alot of players, ESPECIALLY on colony where breaching it garuntees free airlock kills because they physically cant get to the poi faster than you can breach it, and with no map selection someone may have brought a ship, that they now dont want to take to colony, or leave behind in space to get stolen, all because of bad airlock design . te bigger part of the issue is map size more with player numbers, imagine 10 4 man teams in spaceport at its current size, thats simply to much on a map that small, but if we get larger maps with more raid duration with further spread airlocks the chances of it happening decrease substantially , its all about how they want to go about it in the end, but MANY factors contribute to it
@CrankLopez

@@laxthebarsmith6951 Totally hear you and I think those points are valid. I didn't want to touch on space combat and how the spill over of it into the fps portion of the game, because I feel like it's a whole other can of worms with its own unique and tangential set of issues. I think one of the most important things you've touched on is that you are one of the best Marauders players. Importantly, it's because you've put in the time. Personally, I don't want free handouts. You've killed me in game because hey, you're better than me! I don't see anything wrong with that and it is something that drives me to improve, you know? I guess that's at the end of the day, where I'm at on most of it and why that particular facet doesn't bother me. Instead, it excites me to know there is a skill ceiling to keep climbing and that, if I put in the time, I can get there. I hear you about taking a ship into colony. I feel the same way about it. However, I play mostly solo/duo and we pretty much just rock the rust bucket and will breach and meetup for the exact reason you're talking about. That said, I think it's a double-edged sword in some ways. For instance, I actually love colony for that same reason. It's one of the only maps where I'm pretty much guaranteed some decent PVP. I usually run straight down into the sewers to get PVP. One of the reasons I stopped playing (until the next update) is 75% of the players I run into just beg me not to fight them and it's not really a rewarding experience for someone who really only cares about PVP at this point, like me. Colony kind of felt like the only place left that people would fight first and voip later. I hear you that the maps can't hold a higher player base. Personally 10 - 4 player teams in spaceport sounds like a blast to me but I understand that sentiment may not be shared by the vast majority of the player base who wants a more tempered and methodical style of gameplay. Again, just my anecdote but I really do hear you and think you're making valid points. I just wanted to elaborate on my perspective.

I totally get what you are saying and where you are coming from but we were all new once. After I'd gotten bopped in my airlock a few times I realized that going into the POI right away completely mitigated this (About 90% of the time). I think it's good to have consequences for your actions in a game, even if they are negative. I don't think it's healthy for a player to go around collecting salvage for 10 minutes, coming into a POI late to collect scraps from a fight (That they weren't even a part of), and then leaving. That person should be at a disadvantage when coming out of their airlock. I appreciate you sharing your perspective though fr and I think I probably could have worded my own perspective better and less harshly in the video than I ended up doing.

@@CrankLopez oh absolutely, consequences are for sure needed. But sometimes arriving late is outside a players control and that would no doubt feel unfair. I see one of the most requested feature is the ability to close the airlock from the inside. As a lower skilled player I'd love this and it makes no sense why you wouldnt be able to do it. On the other hand once you go into a poi like with breaching pods you should be committed. Like I said it's a tricky one, maybe it could be on a timer, maybe more cover is needed, corridor. Though to say what would work to best balance both aggressor and defender. Theres also the issue of double docking sometimes happening which is a real cheap shot =/

This game desperately needs a gunplay revamp. It's too floaty and far too clunky for a game where most of the gunfights are at point blank range. A bigger issue that you didn't touch on is space combat. It's compeltely irrelevant. There is no reason to engage in space combat as it stands beyond breaching other players' ships. Also, the part about infil camping and leaderboards is detached from reality and ego-fueled, no other way around it. Crying that people complaining about it are BAD, as you say, won't change facts: The overwhelming majority of people absolutely hate dying to an infil or exfil camper. Trying to sell it as them being bad won't change that. If you want your game to survive you must cater to these people. Or else, they just won't play your game. And if they don't play your game, you end up with 120 concurrent players. Look at Grey Zone Warfare, they're doing all they can to fix their infil camping issue and made it a top priority for a reason. It should have been a top priority for this game awell. Same for the leaderboards. You can tell people to "cry in a corner" all you want. And then they just won't play the game. And they game dies. The market just doesn't work by telling people that they're bad and don't understand the game. The reason the game died is BECAUSE the devs didn't listen to the players you're telling them to listen to, because you can hate the "filthy casuls" all you like, but they're what keeps the game alive. If there's no filthy casuls around, you end up with 120 concurrent players.
@CrankLopez

Hey there! First, thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on all of this. Now, let me try to unpack this as there's a lot here. First, I didn't touch on the space combat issue as it's not really relevant to anything I'm talking about in this particular video. That said, I actually fundamentally disagree. A good ship can net you quite a bit of cash just from bodying rust buckets, NPC ships, salvaging, etc. It's not perfect, but I wouldn't call it useless. Second. They can hate dying in their airlock, but that doesn't make them good at the game. You say that you have to cater to them, but the numbers (Which I pull up in the video) actually show the opposite. When leaderboards and tournaments were in the game, the game had far more players in every facet imaginable. It's actually not even close. That said, if you have data that backs up your argument I would love to see it, but I found none in my research. I'm open to changing my mind if you provide me with some data and statistics that show that I'm incorrect.
