Thanks for this video. I used to work with a, erm, free version of Satin for some time and missed it when I followed my conscience. Chow tape gives me nearly the same sound I missed when I stopped working with real tape. I've been producing since the eighties, and your awesome videos still give me something to learn. Thanks again.

This video came at the perfect time. I'm doing a cover of a song with another person and the original artist advised me to get some good tape VST's because the original song was recorded using heaps of analog equipment. I already had my eyes on some tape plugins but I am definitely going to try this out first :)

Yo! Not really anything to speak of actually, I use a deity S Mic 2 running into an AudioFuse Studio. Within OBS I have an EQ to cut below about 70hz for rumble, then I sometimes add in a noise gate in Davinci Resolve if needed. Other than that it's just that I sound like I'm trying to sell you a truck.

Should i Care about this or any saturation if I have Fabfilter Saturn?
@KnzoVortex
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is very different from Fabfilter Saturn. Fabfilter Saturn is a multiband distortion/saturation plugin and parameter modulators and has fairly simple algorithms, more of a multi-use versatile distortion toolkit, but it's distortion modes are more general use than meticulous emulation. CHOW Tape model attempts to meticulously emulate a tape machine with all of its intricacies.

+1 on this one! I've got it and it does some wicked shit! Like it better than the Softube tape, and sometimes better than UAD Studer and Ampex plugins! I don't have Overloud's tape or Acustica Audio's Taupe(really wanted those but I refuse to pay more than $50 for a plugin, got the UAD one's both for$79 in 19 on BLFri, but those 2 never went to the price I'd pay for plugins...as plugins are totally worthless as far as money is concerned). Point is this one is damn good, even for a free one!
