This game genuinely interests me, and not for the gameplay. It makes me wonder what happened to the developer, did he just forget the game? Did he get burnt out at the starting line, did something horrible happen to him, was it all just a scam?? Is it possible he knew about all the issues with the game and that's why he abandoned it? I suppose we will never know - or it could all just be an asset flip :p. I would like to imagine it was an actual passion project, just too ambitious for a brand new dev who burnt out too quickly.

I love how you aren't too harsh to a clearly bad game and laid out all the problems with it. I always get a bit of dread when game reviews demolish someone's game made by 1-2 people. Whoever made this shouldn't of charged money, but it's not like they're a bad person for making a bad game. If I was mixazbos this would be a great video for finding out what is wrong with the game, even though scrapping this and starting over would probably be a better idea. This is probably some project someone worked on for a week till they gave up lol.

I'm going to interpret this as not actually being a playthrough of Larry surviving on the island. Instead it's playing through the fevered recollections of a traumatized Larry, dreams haunted from their 100 days on the island. Randomly falling through the floor and waking up. Logic that doesn't quite make sense. Track of time being lost to the void (All Hail The Void!). Terrifying unearthly nightmare creatures that may just have been normal birds in reality. Still undecided if at the end of the 100 days they'd be rescued or peacefully pass away.

My theory for the "rocks make planks" is that the dev made the tree object and just copy and pasted the code to spawn an item after being hit, and just didn't change the object it spawned. As for the clipping through the floor, I think instead of the camera being on a pivot/its own separate object, it's tied directly to the cylinder that acts as player collision.
@4dragons632
9 күн бұрын
How the heck does falling through the floor happen that often? I wonder if its a problem with the game engine they used? How did the developer not fall through the floor themselves and figure out a fix?
@Graeldon
9 күн бұрын
My theory is that objects bumping into the player shift the players y-axis position down as the object tries to get on top of them. The player is shifted slightly below the surface, and the game logic then pushes the player downwards. The dev was probably aware of the issue, but never got around to fixing it (or maybe didn't know how)
@4dragons632

I'm curious about what exactly happens there on a technical level, I mean, what triggers falling through the ground. As the hunger meter does not work, have you tried to wait it out in a safe place, not moving to avoid falling through, to find out, what happens on the 100th day?
@TomaszRyszkowski
9 күн бұрын
Sometimes you fall through the ground even without moving. I think that is because the ground js literally paper-thin, so whenever anything touches the player and nudges him even a few pixels into the ground, they lose grip on it and because part of the player is under the floor, they fall all the way down. This means that crabs walking into you can trigger a fall, and building blueprints also seem to have their own hitbox that can make you fall down. Im not sure if there are 100% safe places in this mess of a game
@Graeldon
9 күн бұрын
In theory, I believe you could find a safe space and stand perfectly still to wait for day 100. Unfortunately I did not have the time to invest in such an endeavor, but I would be curious to know if they actually programmed and end correctly. My guess, is it would be a pause screen with a "Congratulations!" message, and then you'd be kicked back to the title screen.
