Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Omar Abdullah speaks to ThePrint a day before the legislative party meeting to decide on the Chief Minister who will lead the govt. He spoke on a host of issues including restoration of statehood, Article 370 and the performance of NC in the J&K elections. On new assembly with limited powers, Omar Abdullah said: “there is no doubt that this is a new state experience for us but I hope that it’s a temporary one. Nobody has promised Delhi a statehood, J&K was a state prior to 2019 & was promised statehood by PM Modi and home minister. I believe that in the not too distant future J&K will have state restored”.
