Could be, but knowing Kiesel they probably “install frets so well, that they don’t need to be leveled at all!” 🤷🏻♂️. Ive seen too many horror stories with kiesel first hand via friends. One of my best friends custom ordered a 9 string aries and opted for gold hardware. Everything but the bridge was gold, they literally saw all the hardware was gold and stuck a black bridge on. When he got it and i mentioned that he immediately emailed kiesel to only get talked to like HE messed up somehow… They made him pay to ship the replacement bridge, and ship the black one back. He had to ship the fuck up back before they shipped the replacement to him as well. So for over a month he had a guitar with no bridge because they took their sweet ass time correcting their mistake. This guitar also had a raw-tone finish that was kinda bunk. Shiny in places instead of matte and even some rough patches like they didn’t properly sand/level the finish. Whole heartedly FUCK kiesel and its fanboys.
@collinpaul71

Hey man, proud kiesel owner here (I have 3 of them). You commented on 4 flaws - neck buzz, pickup tone, tremolo hitting the tone knob, and neck dive. The neck dive is because of the options selected. You picked a light wood body on a 7 string and didnt go headless. Its poor option selection. You can call Chris at Kiesel and he will warn you of stuff like that if you have them review your build. The fret buzz and the tremolo hitting the tone knob are both because the guitars setup is atrocious. With a floating bridge, everything is sensitive. And both these issues are related to the guitar's action which will adjust with tuning or if you switch guitar string sizes. Those two issues are correctable but take a bit of experience, id recommend either taking the time to really mess with the tension of the springs in the back to correct it, or just take it to a guitar tech. Lastly, for tone, there is so many factors, but ultimately its your opinion. Your guitar plays like crap undoubtedly due to your awful action, which will play a factor too. Lastly for other commenters, 2k for a custom guitar is super cheap.

If I’m paying that much for an instrument, I’m expecting a properly setup instrument that has no major issues. I shouldn’t have to pay another person, or take an hour or two of my time to do a basic setup. I’ll do those things if needed, but it isn’t a good look for Kiesel to be sending out expensive instruments with no attention to issues like this. Wow. In my opinion that trem is what is destroying this guitar for you, let me explain. I just this year finally found a dream guitar specked out damn close to what I would pick. It was a Mayones Regius core classic 7 in an absolutely nasty trans black flat finish. It had the same style hipshot floating/NON-LOCKING trem. It was used on guitar center used and had Lungren M7s in it. It was flawless with the minor issue that the 7th string refused to stay in tune. I decked the bridge to see if it would hold tuning not floating. No dice. I shimmed and blocked it. Set the intonation and no matter what I did the low B refused to stay in tune or hold intonation. Took it to a friend of mine at Sam ash. He couldn’t get it either. Took it to my local guitar center as I bought it online and after trying to charge me for the set up, because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t me or anyone else I had check it out that maybe we missed something or somehow this intonated differently than every other guitar on the planet after explaining it to my online salesman that was trying to salvage the sale but to no avail still wouldn’t hold. I did not know when I bought it with the terrible online description that it was floating. I thought it was a Strat style dive only type setup but was wrong. The action on that guitar was hands down the lowest craziest set up without buzz it was magical. But a guitar that can’t stay in tune is not worth anything to me. I’m bad enough as it is and don’t need help sounding worse. At least I got to try one for 41 days or rather work on it. Wasn’t meant to be. Best of luck you find that ONE!!!

If it won't stay in tune,- which does suck for 2K,- it's got to be one of a couple simple fixes,- the nut or the tuners.Personally, I almost never keep stock pickups, anyway.And you could probably find better looking low profile knobs, like Gibson speed knobs in white.

Carvin was an all star company, I own 4 Carvin axes. I bought a Kiesel in 2020 and it’s rough, a far cry from the Carvin days. Engineered very poorly and not usable in a professional setting. Give me a stock fender any day over my Vader! Disappointed!

Do you keep your guitars in an area you can control climate?

Once they switched names it seems like those guitars became junk. Those multi color one with the belvels are some of the ugliest guitars ever made. But to give them the benefit of the doubt they have made the Allan Holdsworth model for close to 20 years. If no one knows who Holdsworth is do yourself the biggest favor youlll ever do in your life and go seek him out.

Yo dude. It's your bridge. That's why you're getting the rattle off the top of the neck and your whammy bar is hitting that knob. Your bridge is sitting way too low

Hahaha oh my god I would be pissed if I spend 300 and it had those issues. For 2k I would simply want my money back

If you're $2k in, you might as while get a professional setup done and adjust the pickup heights.

Yes, this is why you by upper level IBANEZ. Remove from case, plug and play. No fighting the instrument, all your play time is just that. Your play time.

Yeah you can switch pickups, setup it a little bit, but for that price point you shouldn't have to. Next time buy some MiM strat or even a good Squier or throw that 2k on some guy, that can make a good guitar. I think even Kiesel have custom shop dont they ?

Pick up an ESP/E-II for the cost and you'll see none of those issues Kiesel fanboys hitting the copium hard these days

Yeah bro this brand is pure garbage and calls to all the younger generation of players. I played a couple of them and they had some serious QC issues and it’s crazy that people swear by these guitars.

The biggest mistake you made was getting a Kiesel when you could've gotten something good like a Balaguer for less if not the same price range

Kiesel makes the ugliest custom guitars on the planet, i liked mine, but still didn't mesh with it. The issues you point out are kinda strange, howd they fuck up the tone knob on height on a trem equipped guitar? Lol
