The individual humbucker switching is great! I like reliced guitars when it’s done sparingly, tastefully and realistically. Hornbeam might actually be a good fingerboard material. It’ll stand up for the lifetime of the guitar IF a refret doesn’t turn it into splinters. Stainless frets aren’t standard on this model. The titanium neck reinforcement is questionable and unnecessary when materials like carbon fiber are cheaper, lighter, stronger and easier to work with. The other alloys are just as gimmicky. It’s different though and it sounds good.
@battoisoutto6657

Titanium is actually easier to find in Russia and Ukraine, so over there it’s far cheaper and easier to work with than carbon fiber.
@matthewf1979
2 жыл бұрын
@@battoisoutto6657 I seriously doubt that claim of “it’s far cheaper and easier to work with”. Look how inexpensive carbon fiber 6mmx500mm square rods(perfect length for this size of neck)are four for $20 US. That’s not even in bulk, which a guitar company would definitely get that discount. They are made in China, which would make them even less expensive than shipping all the way to the US(on ebay). A titanium square tube 500mm long is hundreds of dollars for ONE. Even in Rus/Ukr they aren’t 5$ a piece.
@battoisoutto6657
2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewf1979 it comes from that region. A lot of things are crafted with titanium over there because it’s domestic. Russians made a salts flat race bike using a flat head ural motor and a titanium frame because it was easier to source domestically than other materials. Keep in mind titanium is expensive in the west because it needs to be bought from there. Even the black bird spy planes they had to set up shell companies to buy it from the USSR due to it coming from there. And working with it here is pricey because it’s exotic, and people don’t know how to manufacture with it.

I love that this is overbuilt and high end modern specs while looking vintage. I may want a non relic because I prefer my own story built into the age over the years. The relic on this guitar is beautiful. This guitar would fit in my studio and axe armory well. I mostly live in the folk, blues, Americana, worship world...but I like modern features and play-ability. There are also still moments I just want to plug into my old metal rig and shred with a face melting gain and pretend I'm a black-metal banshee or viking pillager. To do it with a vintage looking guitar would make me happy.

Relicing is just about aesthetics, and its a lot better when it comes with a concept. The concept here is to disguise a metal shredder as a pawn shop reject Jaguar, and it works. Great for your pop-punk look. I think what you're not getting is "naturally played in" only exists you you because you spend a lot of time on instruments with low prices and low detail in how they finish the frets and necks. It just takes a little sandpaper and time, at the factory, or at your home. LOL Fender wants to charge a premium for some rounded edges on the board.

Sorry bro but for $2500 ill probably just get me one of those Jim Root Jazzmasters,& probably still have some 💰 left over. Don't get me wrong there's high end components in that guitar but its just hard for me to pay over $1,000 for a slab of wood,tuners,a bridge and some pickups. But I've done it once so far with a Shecter Platinum C1 single cut with EMGs & it was definitely worth every penny

Unfortunately, now the for my nitpicking part, do you really get to say "...absolutely nobody has asked" in reference to the relic look...then ask for our opinions and what we think of the guitar in the final minutes of the video? Seems a little unfair to me. Anywho, keep up the great work, looking forward to the next vid!

Cool guitar, great specs. But 2400 bucks comming from Ukraine, i dont know, for me its at least 500 too much. I looked up on their Reverb store, looks like it comes from same town where Universum guitars were (are) based. These had a little hype few years back, havent heard anything about them lately, remmember one well known KZitemr out of USA telling he had a big "trust" issue with the company. Personally, i can pull a trigger on smtH. like 10S out of China for max 500 bucks ( and i did, buying Old Blackie) but 2,5 k and up from Ukraine its not for me, sorry, though i have no doubt this could be a guitar way above 10S quality. Just my 2 cents.
