People will say stuff like this shows immaturity, but I think that joking and not being too stiff is desirable and a pretty mature approach. Younger players can have a lot of pressure on them so if they take everything super serious all the time that pressure can affect their performance. While there are exceptions I'd say usually guys who make a joke like "I'm the best looking guy here" are the ones aware of what it implies and are obviously playing it off as a joke. It's a huge difference compared to just saying it not as joke at all.

Howard struggled a lot at Minnesota Duluth but he's having a very good year at Michigan State. UMD rarely produces high-scoring players; they tend to win with team defense and solid goaltending. So the change of scenery was probably what Howard needed to excel offensively.

Isaac Howard stole the show today without a doubt. Definitely lived up to his nickname, The Iceman, with that goal in the shootout. But, I have to say Juri Kulich’s shot has been one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in the World Juniors so far. That kid can absolutely rip it. I think Buffalo has another sniper on their hands

I'm actually loving the feisty nature to these world juniors. All of the other international hockey competitions have become boring and stale, the IIHF World Juniors are the last remaining tournament with any juice. Hopefully the next winter Olympics can be fun.

Nope. Not a fan at all regarding the cocky attitudes and celebratory showboating by athletes of other sports (basketball, football) that seem to scream “look at how great I am” making its way into hockey. Of course, celebrate…but a move like this one seems more to be aimed at creating a viral TikTok moment, rather that just recognizing with your teammates that you just won the game.

I remember growing out of my shell in high school and my buddies on my hockey team really loved it when I said and did stuff like this. Obviously didn’t mean a word of it and just having fun. Completely harmless. I don’t know if I’d do it at the draft or word juniors lol but props to this young man for enjoying life

I defs wish there was a little more of this in the NHL .. Still my favourite quote of the year was when Evander Kane was asked about giving body shots to Kolesar after he jumped a guy from behind and his response ended with "when you wanna f?ck around, sometimes you gotta find out" .. Obviously I'm way more of a Kane fan and his personality with him on my home team, but I have to give it up to guys who'll stir stuff up instead of giving the same, bland normal hockey answers to every question
