Yeah, and I blame mostly men for that because I have noticed that the more physically attractive a woman is, the more arrogant and entitled she is, because men go out of their way to please her. My poor roommate is an overweight woman in her sixties, and she once had to push her broken-down car half a block down a busy street all by herself. Not one person offered to help her. If she had been a young, attractive woman, there is absolutely NO doubt in my mind that she would have had multiple offers of help.

@beautydreamer07
6 жыл бұрын
K Linda it's harassment. And sexual harassment falls under the category of sexual assault. And you said it perfectly: *Europeans* and *Latin Americans* ; not North Americans, though. I'm brazilian and my relatives kiss me on the cheek all the time but North Americans have a different culture, they don't just go around kissing people on the cheek all the time. Plus, if a stranger came up to me in the middle of the street and just kissed me I'd slap them away as fast as I could, it's just not ok, there are boundries. If someone invades your personal space to touch you inappropriately, kiss you on the cheek or just hold your hand, it can be considered sexual harassment. Let's look at the legal forms of sexual harassment: leering, pressure for dates, pressing or rubbing against a person, obscene phone calls, bra snapping, wolf-whistles, lip-smacking, indecent exposure, sexual discrimination, displaying explicit materials, sexist jokes, unwanted grabbing, comments about person's body, soliciting sexual services. So yeah, kissing a stranger definitely fits well into that description. Even if you personally wouldn't feel uncomfortable, most people would. Also, just having a stranger randomly hold a camera up to your face is fucked up too. This woman shouldn't be allowed to have an instagram account.
@kalis856
6 жыл бұрын
"Generally, sexual assault falls into one of three categories. Jennifer Gentile Long, the chief executive officer of AEquitas: The Prosecutors' Resource on Violence Against Women, a global project she co-founded in April 2009, tells SELF those include: 1) Penetration crimes a) Of a body part by another body part (i.e., penal penetration of mouth, anus, vagina) b) Of a body part by an object 2) Contact with genitalia, breast, buttocks, or other intimate body parts 3) Exposure of genitalia, breast, buttocks or other intimate body parts" Harassment is a bigger umbrella, and I think she's being rude, no kidding. But it isn't sexual or illegal. It could be harassment if the people were at work, and I imagine that she would be fired if she was doing this to coworkers depending on the company culture. It's important not to trivialize what "assault" means since it is a much more serious crime than attempting to hold someone's hand.

@@nou6770 on its own, there's nothing necessarily wrong with making light of a dark topic. But it depends on the way you do it. These shitty Instagram videos make light of the topic by literally making it seem like sexual assault is a joke. That's not okay. I think it can be argued that some of Eddy, Cody, Drew, Danny, and Kurtis's videos actually DO make light of dark topics, but in the right way - they make fun of these things for how cringey the videos are, how awful these people seem, how badly the videos are acted, etc. rather than treating sexual assault (or any other dark topic) as a joke in and of itself. That's the difference.

To this 'touching bold heads': It's pretty likely for me to be bold when I'm turning twenty, as my hair has been falling out since I was about 14 years old because of genetics. And if someone would then come up to me and pat me on my bold head, I'd probably get really and I mean _really_ insecure about it. I'd go so far as to say that it could cause a down-phase. So just don't do it. With friends, you know aren't gonna be hurted by it, I guess you can do it but with strangers...just don't. Your English is really good! Since you're trying to learn, here's the *tiny* mistakes you made: - it's spelled "bald" not "bold" - you should have said "hurt" not "hurted" (Hurt is both the past and present tense of the word. English is weird lol) - I guess that "down-phase" is technically correct, but it would probably be better to say a slump or something like that. We don't really use the those words like that, at least in the US But none of those are big issues at all. Sometimes being able to clearly communicate (which you did) is more important than being 100% grammatically correct What's your first language? I'm trying to brush up on my Spanish myself. @@gor.2336 yeah, i took 4+ years of Spanish in school, went on a trip to a Spanish speaking country, and worked in a restaurant with a lot of Spanish speaking staff, so I got pretty fluent. Unfortunately, I stopped using it and I'm horrible now. It's recommended that people take Spanish in the US, but we also offer American Sign Language, French, Mandarin, German, and Latin, among others, depending on the school. I actually had to learn some Mandarin for work, since I was an aid to a student who was taking that as his language credit, and I had to help him out in class. I never got great at it, but I got good enough to help him with his studies, since it was a super introductory course

If a man did this he’d be pepper sprayed, slapped, then shamed/arrested for sexual harassment/-assault. Obviously there’s a big problem with men sexually assaulting/harassing women, but women sexually assaulting/harassing men generally goes unnoticed or is let slide.
@sheamarie9648
6 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of it has to do with the stereotype of men liking sex and that they should "enjoy it" when it happens and that women aren't seen as threatening. It's just as valid when a man is assaulted/ harrassed as when a woman is, it's really unfortunate and upsetting that it's not taken as seriously.
@LuckyVine
4 жыл бұрын
If a less attractive woman did it, I guarantee you she would be treated just as badly. I've noticed that the only time men ever report sexual harassment by a woman is when the woman is not what most people would regard as attractive. Beautiful women are never reported for sexual harassment, but ugly/overweight women are reported ALL THE TIME.
