This is what makes the game unbearable as a solo player. I can’t count how many times this exact scenario has happened recently. At least 3 ships sink within the first few minutes and your left kiting off whilst getting HE spammed into oblivion. Couple that with all the pay to win commanders/ships and it’s just terrible.

This is exactly what WG needs to do for their community contributers and livestreams. They should literally set up a map and explain what not to do and why. This is exaclty what i expect from a pro player in this game. Well done brother. Maybe you could do a series where you just set up a map and just instruct what each ship type should do for each spawn as a basic guideline. Keep up the great work chad.

Heard a lot of people complain about skillbased matchmaking in CoD, and how it was discovered that Activision set you up in good or bad lobbies depending how how well you've been doing to keep you hooked, and I feel like the same probably happens in this game, one game you get paired with super good players, then you get paired with people who just don't know what they're doing, just so your average player says "next game I'll win, and keep playing for another 2 or three games, he wins the third and he wants more, so he plays more and wins, until he gets paired with bad players and loses.

Chad. My 5 minute evaluation goes like this: After 5 minutes into the game I look to see how we are doing. I have only 3k games and a WR of a mediocre 49% but have done some statistical record keeping. *If at the 5 minutes in mark you are down in points, you're still able to win especially if there's caps available. Your team's deployment is critical to what happens next. *If at 5 mins you are down in ships, you're losing. You and your team will need to go hard to get back, but it's doable. *If at 5 mins in your team is down in both ships AND points, you've effectively lost the game. My statistics show 79% of these games will be a loss. You've got to move mountains, have some good players, or have the other side throw the match to win from here. The player base isn't so much bad, as mediocre. In my fleet of 25 guys, I have the 6th highest win rate (at 49% ?) and the 4th highest of players that have the same number of games or more, than me. The game itself teaches players nothing about how to be better. You have to go outside the game to people like you, spartan, peek to get tutorials, and you have to WANT to get better. Most players will think they're "pretty okay", but most aren't. So thank you for you efforts to educate the players. Sorry... turned into a bit of an editorial. My bad.

If I may add, a lot of strategies come down to distributing your team's strengths (stealth/recon, gunpower, zone control, utilities and HP) somewhat evenly, and know when to play aggressively when at an advantage and defensively when at a disadvantage.

The Worcester could contested C a lot earlier and capped it instead of leaving. Not sure if it would have been enough but it would have made the game a lot closer. Gearing going north of A kept a lot of enemies spotted and let the team get a lot more shots on them, not a completely terrible play. The BB on the far left sailing all the way around A instead of getting in it was probably the biggest fail here.

The actual reasons you lost: 1) your shimakaze missed torps on enemy shimakaze, turned away and then back in. Enemy shimakaze still had torps to use and your shimakaze took a point blank fight it would lose 9.5/10 times when retreating and repositioning is better decision 10/10 times. Furthermore, your shimakaze did this without any ships in position to assist it, whereas the enemy shimakaze might have had 1 or 2 ships in position to help based on the last known locations of ships at the time. Your shimakaze made a 5% success rate gamble and lost. 2) your team should have followed either DD and positioned to assist them in providing them space to advance, help DDs find good torp angles with the intention of eliminating risk of being spotted by enemy DD, and assist in eliminating enemy DD's and radar cruisers upon being spotted. Because there are 2 DD's per team and they didn't split go to A and C, the inherent win condition on this map is to somewhat "lemming train" and use islands to advance throughout the map while reducing the number of enemy ships that can shoot at any given friendly ship, while being able to focus fire on a select number of ships. Half your team stayed where they spawned despite the fact that inevitably, a DD would get within range to reliably torp them, as well as, despite the fact that the ebemy team would eventually put them in the position of up to a 90° crossfire (45° minimum). Early positioning by DDs is important, but the overall positioning by the rest of the team relative to the DDs and balls to take some damage is what decides games even when it is supercomputers simulating what a near perfectly played match looks like.
@Yub_Nub

Note: you actually did what I said in point #2. And your gearing allowed you to know what was on the other side of the island and what they were doing. Had the gearing not done that, hypothetically speaking, it could have gone much worse for you especially when you chose to turn to fire all 4 turrets at the Alaska. That information allowed you to do what you did without consequences.
@whereruaaron

Regardless of the Gearings spots we knew there was anywhere from 1-3 ships back there due to other ships spotting. The shima should have went to C right away and the other mass of ships that spawned there should have stayed where they spawned. We could have won as the enemy yoloed themselves into us but again its not all about kills, getting caps and position early on is key and our team did none of it

Yeah I’ve seen some destroyers at legendary tier go way out wide and take themselves out of play. So then they play overly conservative to try and live longer, but then contribute nothing to the battle
